Entertaining

This was an entertaining romantic story that ticked a number of boxes for me. Well written, the narration was okay, but the narrator’s voice was the same for all characters, both male and female and that was off putting. and the narrators were easy to listen to. I was invested in the story and I really liked the characters. The added suspense elements added an additional layer to the story.

Did not reach its potential

The characters and story seemed to lack depth and the story did not reach its potential. The other characters did not come through in the narration. It felt a bit one dimensional and disappointing.

Love love love this one!

This is one of my favorite books! I chose to listen to this audiobook as a reread because I've read the story in print a couple of times and I love it so much, but I had never listened to it before. This is also the first time that I've reread it since I've completed the entire series.

I loved it all over again. In fact, I loved it even more because I noticed little hints and details that meant more to me this time than they did the first time that I read, now that I know the story on all of the characters.

This story features Beau Callahan and Eden Martelli, as well as Eden's son Micah. Eden has shown up in Beau's small town of Summer Harbor, Maine with her young son in tow, and no one knows anything about her except that she needs a job and that she is fiercely protective of her child. Beau needs some help around the house and ends up employing her. While the two have a very slow-burning romance that buds, the story of why Eden is on the run slowly unfolds.

This is very much a story of family relationships-with a great, great setting. The Callahan Brothers are awesome and I loved getting to know them and their relationship to the town. Beau, in particular, is very easy to connect with as a character because he has such a good heart. He does find himself in quite a predicament where his romantic feelings are concerned, and only part of this is because Eden has a difficult time trusting other people. Eden is more guarded than Beau is, but as her story unfolds, it is understandable why this is so.

I loved listening to this story for my reread. I wish some of the more suspenseful parts and some of the more emotional conversations and reveals had been more emotive in terms of the narration, but I would absolutely listen to this one again in a heartbeat. It's one of my forever-favorites.

Love Denise Hunter

“Her own fear held her captive.” This is my second Denise Hunter read, and she is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her romances are so good, and so far there has been a little mystery thrown in to keep you interested. I loved how this one took a turn I was not expecting, and I cannot wait to read book two in the series. This is marked as Christian Fiction, but do not put off by that. She does use some Religion in her stories, but they are not overpowering or overdone in my opinion. I really want more people to give her work a chance. I am loving everything so far.

Someone to show what love should be

Eden and her 5yo son are on the run from a killer when her car dies in a small town. With no money and no where to go, she accepts a job as a caretaker for one of the owners of the town’s Christmas tree farm. The family is good to Eden/Kate and her son but it’s hard for her to trust anyone. Can the nephew and co-owner of the farm convince her to trust him...that is, once he ends his current relationship.
This is a slow burn romantic suspense with a great HEA. Looking forward to the next book in this series

Oh as the drama unfolded, I did will it to go faster but I enjoyed the audio edition

Clean romance suspense

I almost DNF'd it at 30%. Actually I did stop, but picked it up again a month later and I pushed through it.
And I almost DNF'd again, not only was the audio terrible, but I still couldn't see where the story was going - the MMC still has a girlfriend at 50% and it baffled me.
But after the 50% mark the story picked up and it flowed a lot better, there was no more girlfriend, and I could see the HEA happening and making sense.
The story was good, but the audio was really bad. No matter what speed I put it on it felt like I was listening to something generated by AI. The narrator didn't have different tones for each character, which made it very confusing, because you don't know who's saying what. On top of that, it was very robotic. I didn't like it and I kept my speed at 1,5 to get through the book faster.

Falling like bricks

The title of my review applies to the narrator of this story. I enjoyed the story yet Ms Carr’s performance was flat and I resorted to reading the story. She doesn’t have a large range of voices. This made it difficult to discern which character were speaking.
I enjoy family series, and “Falling like Snowflakes “ is sweet. But read it instead of purchasing the Audible version

How to listen to narrator

I found it helpful to slow narration speed a couple of points. Carr reads like she is in a hurry to get through a book.

Absolutely adored this!

First of all the story and the book itself is absolutely amazing. I’ve been procrastinating reading/listening to this for about six years and I hate that I waited so long. My only thing is the narrator was absolutely horrible! You can tell this is a very cheap production and I’m very disappointed with the narration. The author has a very pleasant voice but she reads it with a mono tone well maybe a little less monotone. But she doesn’t read it with any emotion is what I’m trying to explain. What’s more, for a while in the beginning I couldn’t tell the difference between characters because she uses the exact same voice for every single character in the book which makes it very boring and displeasing. I should’ve just read the book myself versus listening to it because she was absolutely horrible. Very cheap production very cheap and unenthusiastic narration you guys should’ve done better because the story was everything! I still highly recommend the book. You won’t be disappointed!
