Sara Brighton is a quickly rising culinary star in Savannah after Food & Wine magazine named her restaurant Best New Restaurant of the South, until it burns to the ground in an accident and she impulsively packs her truck and heads for McCall, Idaho, the last place she remembers being truly happy.

Sam Draper, head of the Lake Patrol division of the McCall PD, knows the last thing she needs is another entitled tourist making her life difficult on the water. However, after Sara surprises her by helping her avoid a near professional disaster, Sam teaches her to drive a boat. The chemistry between them is hot and instant, and as the summer heats up, Sam finds herself falling in love until Sara buys her late father’s iconic diner and turns it into the newest hotspot for pretentious culinary tourists.

Can the love Sam and Sara found on the water survive the lingering ghosts waiting for them back on dry land?

I was drawn in from the beginning as the characters were introduced and I couldn’t help but imagine Sam as Michelle Rodriguez, which made the story that much better for me! Evans did a perfect job of describing all the little things that bring you there and leave you hungry for more ;) Plenty of sex scenes to keep your attention brushed with some humor throughout the book. I also didn’t mind the cheesy flirtations, I mean aren’t we all a little cheesy when we first fall in love? It’s hard to not truly appreciate how Evans developed the characters the way she did. I think she did a solid job of tying in the small town history/personal pasts with the way the main characters came to be. I’m looking forward to the next book! Actually wouldn’t be opposed to a sequel to McCall….

I listened to this book several times over last summer and I believe I’ll be listening several more times this summer too❣️
It is definitely my go to book to start the summer off right . Patricia Evans Jordan has become one of my top ten authors of all time and McCall is my favorite book of hers so far 🥰

McCall was a very good audiobook by an author that's new to me, so I didnt know what to expect. Much better than I'd hoped! The story was great and well thought out and there were sex scenes and more sex scenes and great narration, so... very enjoyable!

Really Enjoyed!

I like Patricia’s writing and I think this is her best book out of the three I listened to.
Leslie McDonel narrated veery well, so all in all this was a pleasure. I liked Sam and Sarah I would have liked to know what happens to Sarah’s sister and Murphy. But I could guess....

Loved this book

I really enjoyed McCall. I had already read the book so I was familiar with the story. The part of all of us that wants to live “where everybody knows your name.” Leslie McDonel does an excellent job with the narration.

Excellent!
