Publisher's summary

Niki is willing to do anything to protect her family. This time, she might have gone too far. In Italy, she got the job done, or did she? Her boss is asking pointed questions.

Taylor has a new challenge with someone looking into his business, and this time it's a feisty reporter from a Cryptid-Inquirer magazine. Will she upset the balance between Marino and McFadden? Or will she uncover the whole truth and put it out for everyone to see? Will she even live to type up a report?

Both Taylor and Niki are in hot water, but for different reasons.

Taylor works to keep his business functioning, his employees safe, and wondering if he is going to be able to launder a few million in cash with a reporter sniffing around. A reporter that looks eerily similar to a certain FBI agent.

For Taylor McFadden, his future is now caught between one woman he knows he should stay away from, and another that might just send him off the deep end if he doesn't.

Excellent continuation of a great series..

Taylor McFadden is still at it. Killing monsters and trying to stay on the good side of the mob, now that he showed them that you don't mess with Taylor and his team.

No romance and the F-bomb was used 174 times.

As for that narration: Derek Shoales is simply fabulous.

Good continuation of the series

Good story line that continues to build on the previous books. The characters are interesting and their backstories are slowly but carefully filled out. It’s a good listen and worth the credit. Very enjoyable. JJ

Self inflicted story line

Half of this story line is just self inflicted negligence. Get back at a criminal by committing grand theft in public with potential innocent bystanders was the last book’s step too far and now it just gets worse when the MC turns to the guy they stole from to help rescue someone who wants to expose him. The reporter had no clue about the truth until everyone talks openly in front of her while also discussing whether to kill her. Why would a guy turn to the mob for help when he has the DOD on speed dial?

Bobby's judgmental BS is getting old and Vicki seems to be a blood thirsty strategist instead of a hacker. Not the best in the series.
