Publisher's summary

From Melissa Foster, the New York Times bestselling author of She Loves Me, comes a sexy and heart-warming novel about finding love - and family - where you least expect it.

When chef Abby de Messiéres returns to Silver Island with her sister to get their late mother’s affairs in order, she expected to inherit her mother’s bistro along with their childhood home, not to discover a half sister they never knew existed, and a handsome vacationer camped out on her mother’s patio.

Workaholic Aiden Aldridge has been sent to Silver Island on a work-free vacation, armed with a “Let Loose list," and ordered to get a life by the much-younger sister he raised after the death of their parents. After years of focusing on his sister’s well-being, he’s blindsided by his intense attraction to the gorgeous, free-spirited Abby.

Aiden might not know much about chilling out, but he’s excellent at striking deals. He helps Abby with the restaurant in exchange for her help in tackling the items on his list. Sparks fly as Aiden and Abby work, and play, side by side. Intimate conversations lead to steamy kisses and undeniable passion. But there’s more to Aiden than Abby knows, and when the truth comes out, their new romance is put to the test, as the two find out if true love really can conquer all.

Welcome back to Silver Island

We are back on Silver Island and I couldn't be happier, MAYBE WE WILL is Abby de Messiéres and Aiden Aldridge's story. You may remember Aiden from his sister Remi's book if you've read THIS IS LOVE, no worries if you haven't every book Melissa Foster writes can be read as a standalone, I loved him and was so excited that he was finally getting his HEA.

Aiden is a workaholic, he has spent most of his adult life raising his younger sister after their parents died in an accident and now that she's an adult he has thrown himself into working non-stop. So much so his sister has made him take a much needed vacation and has given him a to do list of fun things so he will not be tempted to work while he is supposed to be relaxing.

Abby had lived on the island until she left for culinary school, but, now her mother has passed away so she and her sister are back to figure out what to do with everything. There are a couple of surprises left behind by her mother and one of them is life changing....a half sister they knew nothing about!

The Meet-Cute with Aiden and Abby was just that - cute and funny! I loved the chemistry they had and the way they felt so comfortable around one another pretty quickly. This was not an insta-love story but there definitely was insta-lust. 😉

I listened to the audiobook version of this book and loved it. Aiden Snow and Jennifer Mack did a wonderful job with bringing this story to life. If you listen to audiobook's I would recommend grabbing this one, your ears and heart will thank you for it.

This is a perfect read for anyone that enjoys Steamy Contemporary Romances with a bit of an age gap (ten years). You may need a few tissues but it's not a tearjerker, I would recommend a tall glass of ice water though because you will need it to cool off every now and then.

Happy Reading!!!

The PREMISE was good

I have 1 hour Left in this book and I’m now listening to it at 1.5 speed just because I’m not a quitter! The first chapter with their original meet up was cute and the next couple were okay and it goes downhill from there. Excessive dialogue is an understatement. The story isn’t that complex and could probably have been half its current length. Narrators were only tolerable. She sounded very whiny and the character seemed Immature. MANY better books in this genre that I would recommend. I’m not sure if any of this author’s other books are better. This was my first.

Maybe We Will

"I fell in love with you like night takes over day - soaking up every little thing you did and said, until you were all I saw, all I wanted. Until you were so much a part of me, I no longer knew how to be me without you."

Maybe We Will is an emotional ride about healing from past heartache and moving forward and going after buried dreams. A story that will give you all the good feels and give you island fever by the end of the story.

Aiden is a workaholic who has been forced by his sister to take a much-needed vacation so she sends him to Silver Island and creates a "Let Loose List" for him to complete on his month-long vacation. While enjoying his morning coffee and newspaper, a beautiful woman comes running into his life, literally, and he is taken by her. When he finds out she is the part-owner of The Bistro and her dreams for the business, he tells her to turn down the investor who wants to purchase the business, which is him, and he makes it his mission to help her bring her dream to life. Island life has changed Aiden and the way he views things that are important.

Abby has returned to Silver Island with her sister to take care of their mother's estate to find out that they have a half-sister that they never knew about. Abby goes for a run to see The Bistro, their family's restaurant. When it comes into view she realizes that she wants to bring back the magic that it once was. When she comes around the corner of The Bistro she runs into a man enjoying his coffee and newspaper on the patio of the restaurant. She starts talking to him and opens up to him completely and helps him to enjoy his "Let Loose List".

There were many things that I enjoyed but there were also things that I struggled with. I experienced tears of heartbreak and tears of joy during the story. Aiden and Abby were adorable together. I loved their connection and the way they complimented each other. As an avid reader, I enjoyed the way past characters are connected into the story and new ones are introduced that we are sure to get to know better in the future. I struggled with the length of the story. I felt that it was a little too long and that it seemed to drag along at points. There were a lot of extras that probably could have been omitted and we still would have got the full story. The other struggle was a personal trigger for me.

Trigger Warning: alcoholism

Audio: Aiden was great as usual and did a great job with bringing Aiden and his part of the story to life. In the first book I listened to by Jennifer, I was not sold to her but she changed my view as Abby.

Boring & Cheesy

Too long, little plot, and very predictable. I kept hoping it would improve, but it did not

Silver Medal

This is my first read from this author. Interesting, believable characters. I'll definitely be picking up the next two books in the series.

I got bored.

It started off good. Lost my attention about half way through. I got bored. Maybe if I finished it I could fully rate it. Maybe another day.

Slow going

it was a sweet love story with minimal angst, but oh my gosh, was it slow going. There seemed to be a lot of extra fluff for such a low angst tale.

Silver Harbor Sisters ♥️💵🏝💙

I liked the concept of this book, but it was a bit long and tedious for me. I liked how he found love for the first time in his 30s, and she finally found her place in the world by taking over her deceased parents bistro.

Abby and Aiden have a slow burn romance as they mark things off his to do list, but it just seemed to drag on forever.

The drama toward the end seemed over the top and made me frustrated with Abby’s character.

The ending was cute, but by then, I was happy to bid them farewell.

The narrators did a good job.
