Publisher's summary

Sending Mary to death row was easy, but getting her out without anyone knowing - that’s the real challenge.

After a miscarriage of justice lands Mary on death row, she spends the next 10 years awaiting her turn with the executioner. All efforts by her valiant attorney to save her are exhausted. But near the end of her journey, she gains two unexpected allies: the police officer who arrested her, and the young clergyman who fell in love with her.

Unbeknownst to her, they race against time to keep her from the death chamber. But a corrupt district attorney is sparing no effort to see her executed. As the day of her execution approaches, she accepts her fate and calms the fears of those who love her.

But there’s one wild card left to play.

Will a last-minute miracle save Mary’s life? Or, will the death machine cruelly extinguish a flame that was nothing more than an absurd folly from the very beginning?

Way too long

The story has a different slant from most other death row books and some of it is suspended for too long. It could have been more tense and sharp if there hadn't been so much drivel. The reader had a good voice but if she was doing Mary's voice she sounded as if she was 5 years old. I missed where the preacher got all his money. I liked some of it but not as if I was able to believe how "good" everyone thought Mary was. She was a very weak character and she never grew stronger..
