Cute Story
I feel like this story started cute but then it jumped the shark & went on another storyline that I feel like it was too much. Also, at the end they said you can get an extra chapter that I wanted to listen to - but I can't find it online.
I'm not a big fan of the woman voice.

Dual POV. Standalone with lots of character crossover from Nadia Lee's work. I really enjoy the way Nadia Lee weaves characters from her different books into new stories. It's like bumping into your best friend in the least likely place, such a great surprise. Both narrators read well. Content warning: crazy ex-girlfriend and roofied cocktails.
Nate Sterling is attracted to Evie, his assistant, but she doesn't seem the least bit interested in him. Evie Parker is attracted to Nate, her handsome billionaire boss, but her past, her job, and his status mark him strictly off limits. Nate volunteers to be in his close friend's charity bachelor auction and planned a wild night in Vegas as the winner's date. (It's for charity after all, 😉.) The downside and impending disaster to this auction is you never know who will win. Nate's crazy ex-girlfriend learns that he is participating and goes all out to let him know she will win and that they're relationship will be restored. Desperate for a solution that doesn't get him in more trouble Nate asks Evie to bid to win him. Evie has no desire to play Nate's game but his financial offer would really help her. It takes some convincing but she finally decides to do it. Little does she know that she's going to end up in the tabloids for winning the auction, vomiting on a reporter, marrying Nate, being accused of being a gold digger, and accused of being pregnant with another man's baby.
Nate and Evie get their happily ever after even though the cards are seemingly stacked against them. JP

I have read this book multiple times and now listened to it. 😍
The narrators did a great performance of bringing the characters to life.
This is a go to book when I need a pick me up. Nate is so caring and sweet. They make such a great couple. The crazy people bring in drama but their friends help them through the tough spots. What a grand gesture with the HEA...
