The mark also holds an omen of great calamity to come to Meridian. Jon finds that he was not the only human Hero to wear such mark but it doesn't bode well for him when he learns that none of the former heroes are alive and there's no way for him to learn how to harness the powers of the Mark. What's more, he must be the one to end the calamity and slay a Trith'ar witch before she conquers the world.
Jon must bide his time and acclimate himself in a Victorian-Esque society he is sure are full of elves and dwarves while trying to prepare himself for what was to come.
