This one wasn’t as light hearted and funny as the first book. It was good but much darker. And that ending hits.

Like the ending of “The Empire Strikes Back”.

Good for the 2nd one...waited some time but it was kinda worth it. I disliked angelicas chapter....shes not that much of an angel man. You didnt give that impresion in the first book at all so i dont understand were that came from shes pretty vad. All can say about angelica is that i would not spare her.

I would never let my kids see me sparkle!! The bullying would never stop. I laughed out loud at this spot with my windows down in a parking garage 🙃 yes people stared at me. Can we get book 3 sooner then 2 years, please 🙏?

So much happens in this book that about halfway through i thought I was near the end of it. Love every minute of this book and can't wait for book 3

Ama,ing second book

This book was amazing. It had some funny parts and some sad parts and was an amazing book 2. Action packed with a great storyline. It was well worth the wait! Now I will eagerly wait for book 3!

I hate when I have to go back to reality.

This is by far one of the BEST series. The characters feel alive, the world feels alive, the systems hold true to themselves. I just want to live in this universe forever

If you like the 1st one you will enjoy this one. I don’t think this one felt as satisfying as finishing the first book but it was a great addition to the series.

Meh..

Loved the progression but I hated the limit on the protagonist’s growth in power and his helplessness. Makes me want to not go any further personally. However, I know some people prefer this type of struggle.

Fast Paced feels like Doctor Who

Love the book. Bejamin Kerei has a way of keeping things comical and serious, he really captured the perfect balance. I also really like his world building, we are getting an in depth look at another world's magic system and it is wondrous. He really has thought deeply about how vampire powers work biologically, spiritually, and magically in this world and has Vincent use the powers in captivating ways.

My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that it feels like he uses Deus ex Machina alot. For instance we are introduced to professors for the first time when Vincent needs 3 professors at one point in story and Vincent knows everything about them and that they have skills/powers he needs, however they were not introduced in story before this point. I think having the professors as established characters before would have helped the story. This pattern occurs alot for characters introduced such as vampires, abyss creatures, church members, students, etc.
