On Earth, Logan Specter was the estranged scion of a tech billionaire, living a life of leisure, art his primary passion. Transported to an otherworldly realm of mythical creatures and uncanny monstrosities, Logan finds himself the reluctant leader and protector of his fellow stranded and abducted humans, including his girlfriend, Freya. While some have succumbed to their new environment, devolving into a makeshift hunter-gatherer society, struggling to survive against hostile predators, others work on a plan to fight back against their alien captors.
Logan believes they have a chance at winning if they can manipulate the energy of the Numa crystals, a hybrid of technology and magic that runs everything on this world. The crystals will enable him to unlock new powers and abilities. But all the while, his AI grows more sentient—and begins to seek its own autonomy.
But Logan's father, Malcolm, still wants control over his AI-enhanced offspring. He has fallen under the thrall of the eldritch entity, Levemoth. Leeched of his very humanity and corrupted into the being known as the Devouring Herald, Malcolm is using dark sorcery to mutate people into an army of zombies. As he spreads chaos and destruction across the realm, Logan must figure out how to save him—or kill him . . .
