Publisher's Summary

In this heart-pounding installment in J.R. Ward’s number one New York Times best-selling series, a long-lost member of the Black Dagger Brotherhood finds true love - and evil incarnate - in Caldwell, New York.

Sahvage has been living under the radar for centuries - and he has every intention of of staying “dead and buried”. But when a civilian female sucks him into her dangerous battle with an evil as ancient as time, his protective side overrides his common sense.

Mae has lost everything, and desperation sets her on a collision course with fate. Determined to reverse a tragedy, she goes where mortals should fear to tread - and comes face-to-face with the Brotherhood’s new enemy. She also discovers a love she never expected to find with Sahvage, but there can be no future for them.

Knowing they will part, the two band together to fight against what Mae unknowingly unleashed - as the Brotherhood closes in to reclaim one of their damned, and evil vows to destroy them all....

I don't think I will ever get tired of this series. I love that even though we are meeting so many new people the Brothers are still pretty prominent in these series. Everything about this book left me wanting more. The ending sets up a few new story lines and one that people have been waiting for!

I will admit I was a little lost in the beginning because I didn't remember a lot of details from the last book so I was confused by a few characters but it didn't affect my enjoyment of this book. I was so excited about Sahvage, even though I had no idea who he was I still got so many answers from previous books (Coffins?). I always wondered about what happened to all the brothers from the "old country" and we get a few answers on that too!

Jim Frangione is perfect as always for the Brotherhood!

She's Done it Again, and I'm Screaming!

It feels like I've waited decades for Lover Unveiled, and it did not disappoint! I associate Jim Frangione's voice with each of these wonderful BDB characters, so it would have broken my heart had another narrator read this latest installment. Jim did his usual, incredible performance, bringing all my fav characters to life. Yes, you'll get to experience Wrath, Vishous, Rhage, and many others again as you meet the latest brother, Sahvage. The climatic ending is going to thrill you and frustrate you as Ward sets up future storylines that you want right now!
Speaking of Ward, please excuse me while I address her. Please oh great one, the writer known as J. R. Ward, I am begging you, please don't make us wait another year for Lassiter's story! I can't take it!
Ok, back to you, the prospective buyer. I realize my pitiful review has given no summary, no great literary critique, but come on! It's J. R. Ward. It's the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Do you really need my opinion to help you decide? Buy it, read it, and hold on for a wild, wild ride!

Disjointed

Comparing this work to that of other authors, it’s wonderful. Comparing it to others in the series, it was disappointing. Mae - ugh. I really want to like her but it’s a struggle. I’m finding it hard to understand why anyone would even like her, let alone fall in love with her.

I have to say, though, that J. R. Ward is a brilliant writer. I set alarms for her book release dates. Black Dagger Brotherhood is in my top 5 series. Don’t judge the series by this book. :)

This book is a fantastic addition to the series.

This book moves the series forward and gives you all the feels, laughter, and comradery that you come to expect from J.R. Ward. I love how the characters act consistently true to their nature and their choices are believable. So many moving pieces that come together in the end with hints towards future books. I was glued to this story from start to finish.

I never thought I would say this, but...

The anticipation leading up to this book has felt like an eternity. I love the BDB books more than any series I have ever read. This was very disappointing. I did not connect with this book on any level. It was all over the place for me.

Torn

I always love the BDB books . I really like this story line the plot was awesome as usual for a BDB book. Im a bit disappointed in our heroin though. i truly disliked her from the word go i tried really hard to see her side of things but found her to just be hateful. Savage had some bad attitude goin on to but we kind of expect that from a brother
I have become such a fan of this series that they are almost like reading about distant family and enjoy every minute of every book but as said above this one had me torn.
I also think jim was a bit off with this one i could barely tell between may and savage and even butches boston accent was hardly detected it was definitely not like it was in past books.

with all that said i am so hoping that Lassiter's book is the works i just love him to death. Cant wait for the next book i dont think anything would stop me from reading any BDB book

Hard, at times

I liked this story as I have many others by JR Ward. There are less than 5 new characters. And you don't have to know all the usual folk, though it helps. But I have to make a few comments about this one in hopes that somehow, in some way, she will get this message or someone else who also needs to hear and heed it.
On the long and treacherous fight to be seen and treated as equally, just EQUALLY human, the least anyone can do, especially an author in current times, is stop using "black" for all things negative and evil. And, specifically, as much as author Ward appropriates from black culture in her books (ex. lingo, language), the absolutely least she can do is stop perpetuating the centuries-old view that "black" = evil and bad. Please.

it was ok

I hate to say this, but I think it's about time for my favorite series to be put to rest. There was nothing...spectacular about this book. I AM glad to know the mystery behind the coffins, but this book's H and h are people that are brand spanking new, so harder to connect to the BDB.

Best BDB book in awhile

Drug a little here and there but it had a little more meat to it than a lot in series lately. Excited Lassiter might finally get his story.

Never Disappoints

I couldn't get enough & sad it ended. Ready for the next story, Ms. Ward! I'm obsessed with every single character. PS, thank you, Jim for bringing them to life!
