Ah, to have sons…

This book sails very well into audio with Harry Frost at the helm. With many male characters in this story, he meets the challenge of making each new one sound uniquely different. It’s no surprise why he is a favourite of many, myself included.

My favourite part of this alt-universe setting is the Bennet family dynamic with two very protective and loving older brothers and a Mr Bennet who is less indolent and a better family head.

Recommend.

I enjoyed this story when I first read it years ago but then the audiobook, wonderfully narrated by the talented Harry Frost, came out and it was an instant buy.

There are still 5 Bennet children but we have twin older brothers but no Mary or Catherine. There entail is broken but Mrs Bennet still has her concerns about loosing her home. These two brothers are very big and strong and will not put up with anyone who is not polite to their sisters. Yep, Darcy still sticks his foot in his mouth but is called on his behavior. Lydia, even though she is not out still acts as in canon. Bingley’s sisters are incredibly rude, especially to Jane, after returning to town but thankfully they get put in their place by several others. I so loved how Jane’s story progressed. Mr Collins still shows up expecting that he is the heir and is dumbfounded that he is not.

I completely enjoyed hearing the book brought to life and expect to have it on my regular re-listen list.

Angelic Brothers

Another entertaining book from Sue Barr in audiobook format, and superbly read by Harry Frost! I loved the book, and it just pops with the character’s voices from Mr. Frost. The Longbourn Angels are twin brothers to Lizzie, but when she is insulted by Darcy, the wings come down and the fists (figuratively) come up. The Assembly scene is great and Darcy learns that the Bennet brothers won’t allow disrespectful slurs against their sister to go unchallenged. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great book!

I love all Sue Barr's books. It's great to have them on audio. And, of course, Harry Frost is an excellent narrator.
