The 40th anniversary edition of the Pulitzer Prize-winning classic of the American West, with a new foreword by Yellowstone cocreator Taylor Sheridan. An epic of the frontier, Lonesome Dove is the grandest novel ever written about the last defiant wilderness.

Journey to the dusty little town of Lonesome Dove, where retired Texas Rangers Augustus McCrae and Woodrow Call undertake a perilous cattle drive to the untamed plains of Montana. Along the way, they face danger, adventure, and an unforgettable cast of characters. Richly authentic and beautifully written, Lonesome Dove is a story of love, loss, and the unyielding spirit of the American West.

This review is for Will Pattons narration for Lonesome Dove, This is my second listen added to my physical readings while watching the movie so many times I know the lines by heart and cry every time. You can't get any better than this. Excellent story, best Western ever!!! Will Patton is up there with George Guidall... non better than them.

WOW. Will Patton upped the game on this one! Awesome...

I have two healthy daughters, a beautiful wife but those come second to having the honor of being the first person to review this version of one of the best epics ever written. It's lonesome dove read to you by the heavenly voice of Mr. Patton, what else needs to be said?

the older versions narrator made the book more jovial. Don't get me wrong will patton does a great job, but lee horsley made it more like you were listening to your crazy uncle telling you a story.

i kind of miss the jovial narration from Lee Horsley, but Will Patton is still a treat!

[Drafted by Gemini Flash based on my "book club" chat] The epic story told in Lonesome Dove is one of my all-time favorite Audible titles. I was pleasantly surprised to discover an author who so profoundly echoed my own views on the professional and work ethic necessary for large undertakings. The story itself is magnificent. While the length of the audiobook was only initially intimidating, I reached a point where I intentionally put off the last 10 or so chapters because I simply didn't want the journey with Gus to end.
Will Patton's narration is mostly strong, and his ability to sustain the vast narrative is a credit to his general skill. I am a fan of Patton's work, but I did note some technical flaws in this performance: his Spanish accent could be better, and his voices for Gus and Jasper were too similar, requiring extra focus to distinguish. However, these minor issues do not detract significantly from the overall experience. I rank this among my favorite Audible titles, alongside the precise, multi-voiced brilliance of Jim Dale for the Harry Potter series.

Among the best in my 622-strong Audible library
