Horrible

This starts out OK but soon devolves into a thinly veiled republican neoconservative propaganda tale. Military = Good, privatized military = Better. Republican = good, Democrats and liberals = bad, ugly, fat & traitors.

I am no hippie terrorist lover, I actually used to work in WTC 2 in 2001 but this simplistic drivel is way below Tom and I hope Mark Greaney runs a mile from future projects, I really liked his past book.

Avoid.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

For those who enjoy action and suspense, this book delivers both in a way that marries the story to the current geo-political reality of our times. Tom Clancy never fails to deliver and Lou Diamond Phillips reads it beautifully.

The action and the characters I've come to

What does Lou Diamond Phillips bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He reads it as I would in my own head, which makes this question tricky to answer. For me, his acting ability helps him bring the characters to life in a believeable, genuine way.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was extremely entertaining and something I was anxious to resume everytime I had to pause.

Any additional comments?

Audible's audiobooks are a great way to enhance the time one must spend on the more mundane activities of life maintenance, and a fantastic travel companion on short or long trips.

Sure it is a story with so many parts I might have missed something that would make the confusing clearer.

The End once you hear it you will agree.

What does Lou Diamond Phillips bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

First book by him will look for more.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Nope

A good story but waaay overdoes the politics

I think I may have sprained something in my head rolling my eyes at the politics in this book. This is no comment on whether or not I agree with him, he just overdoes it... a lot.

The story has many of the elements of a good Clancy read but somehow doesn't capture his ability to tell a story. I just finished The Cardinal of the Kremlin which I'd read years ago and it renewed my love of a great Tom Clancy book. The Jack Ryan meme is getting a little far fetched at this point too. Good story, not great. I'd recommend it but with the suggestion that if you come in to this book with low expectations it will probably be an easier listen.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Locked On?

John Clarke on the run and the lenghts he goes through reminds me of days of old ( No Remorse ,another great one I recomend ) And the ending! WOW!!!

Have you listened to any of Lou Diamond Phillips’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. Dead or Alive. Nice to have alot of different voices to put with the characters, finally brings Clarke and Ding to life in a whole new way. Thanks LDP!!!

Believe me I wanted to.

I hope LDP does the next book in the Jack Ryan series I drive overnight and I am very entertained. Thanks for keeping me up!!
