Publisher's Summary

A standalone NSB novel.

I’m unpredictable. A genius, an underachiever. I’m the song, the voice, the passion, the pain. I am failure. I do music because it’s what I am, but sometimes that’s not enough. A slave to my nature, I wait for it to show mercy and drop a gift in my lap. Because the music chose me. I’m its victim not its gift.

She destroyed my career. Ruined my life. Pushed me from the shadows and exposed my lies. She’s the fire that destroys lesser men, and now her flames are aimed at me. She loves to watch me burn, but the part we never saw coming?

Sometimes it takes a fire to ignite a spark and slay the darkness.

This is so much more

I have read this book 7 times, but this is freaking amazing. I can’t even form words what this book did to me. ZW as Jesse is the epitome of amazing and it’s breathtaking.

My heart breaks for Jesse

Writing about addiction and depression isn't easy but this was brilliantly done.
This one brought out so much in me. I'm pissed, I hated him, I loved him, I cried, I laughed. I'm emotional drained. Jesse is such a tortured soul and Mila is the perfect match. She knocks him done, then builds him right back up. Mad respect to Alyson Santos for continuing to write books like these. I look forward to the next installment in the NSB series. Zachary Webber, still one of my favorite male narrators. He portrayed Jesse and the supporting characters well. I was given a free copy of this audiobook by the Author at my request and voluntarily lefted this review.

Beautifully Written story of love and loss

This book of love and loss and second chances- struggle with demons and a past full of heartache for Jesse is real and gutsy. Second chances and redemption will definitely break your heart and mend it back together. Jacob Morgan does an awesome job bringing Jesse and cast to life.

Oh the angst....but so good!!

This story is going to tear your heart into tiny little pieces. Get the tissues out. There's so much pain and sadness initially that I didn't think I could take it but thank goodness Zachary Webber narrated the entire story. He was and is amazing!! This is another wonderful rock band and musicians journey that makes you feel everything.
And yes there's a love story and loss that you won't forget. Enjoy the ride.

Incredible

When you combine the extraordinary talents of Alyson Santos and Zachary Webber you are in for an incredible experience. The storyline is intense and ZW brings it to life the way the words were intended by the author.
I have both read and listened to Limelight and would have to say that this book is the rare instance when I enjoyed listening over reading.

Loved it! 5 Amazing stars!*****

This is my favorite out of the series. This book is so beautifully written. The words are so lyrical, and the song parts so expertly weaved between the narrative and dialogue.

I love this series, and love this book. Zachary Webber, as always did a fantastic job with the narration and capturing the voice and soul of the characters.

Highly recommend. Five stars all the way.

What a roller coaster!

The hero's a lot more forgiving than I am. That's for sure. Also, if drug use is a trigger for you -- this is not going to be a fun ride for you. But otherwise, the struggles were real, and I was feeling all the feels. Hearing ZWebb doing a female British accent was a lovely bonus. ;)

Amazing writing - this could have been a 5 star

I am really conflicted about the rating for this story. I loved everything although it was a sad and often bleak story. Jesse was a tragic hero and I hated how he was caught in a loop and couldn't get out of it. People who don't know addiction judge those who are trapped in a habit. I despaired because for a long time I wasn't even sure he'd make it to the other side. I loved how Mila stood by him and believed in him although he didn't give her much to work with. I LOVED that the man causing so much pain in Jesse's life could actually be redeemed - that was unusual and I commend the author for going this route. Despite the horrific things he did, I felt his remorse and pain too.

Up until 40 minutes before the end another tragedy happened on top of all the hopelessness and trauma and that's where the author lost me a little. It was out of the blue and total overkill. This author has a serious gift but this book should have ended on a hopeful note, which is not what I got. I was considering giving this book a 3 star rating but I think, apart from that part, Alyson Santos's writing was perfect and the storytelling absolutely spellbinding. I will definitely read more of her.

Zachary Webber's performance is impeccable. This role may be written just for him.

Very slow action pace and heavy on the drama

I found this audiobook to be very intense. The subject matter is heavy, and even though it's a rock star romance, it's more of a haze than anything. The romance build up is more "insta-love", the main character goes through so many relapses and episodes of disappointing his peers that it basically felt emotionally draining as by listening to the story and with Zachary Webber's performance it's a punch in the face with all the set backs and all the character's struggles. I am a huge fan of Mr. Webber and he really delivered an outstanding performance. I am not sure if I'll give the rest of the series a try because this audiobook felt very slow paced and dragging this characters situation was just too emotionally depressing.

Emotional!

An emotional story of a rock star addict tortured with demons of his past as he spirals down to rock bottom and then struggles to find his way back. This is a story of hope, second chances, love, loss, and more. Make sure the tissues are handy because you’re going to need them.

Jacob Morgan is a favorite narrator of mine. He does an amazing job bringing this story to life by putting so much emotion into all the characters, especially Jesse.

Moving story

I have never had a book move me as much as Limelight. Kept relistening to when Jessie was writing the lyrics and trying to hear the words with music. I could hear a pounding beat but wanted to hear the guitars. Will definitely be looking forward to the next book in the series and will go back to listen to the first three. Definitely worth the listen. Great job Alyson Santos and Zachary Webber.

ALL THE EMOTIONS. THIS IS RAW AND EMOTIONAL.

I wasn't expecting that!

I have read so many Rock-star romances but this is set apart. when I think back on some of the words, some of the Lyrics that went around and around in Jesse's head, its poetic, its Brilliance, Its damn good writing.

Jesse is a tortured soul, an addict, an escape artist from real life running to the use of pills, drugs he believes Will temporarily set him free from the anguish of his past, from his fears, from his thoughts and triggers, he runs to escape the thoughts he can't control.
Mila is a blogger who enters his life, not i a good way at first she is an influential blogger with famous parents and her review does damage, it shoots Jesse and his band from the top right to rock bottom.

LIMELIGHT is an emotional and heartbreaking story, I was moved many times, perplexed many times for Jesse, I laughed, had tears in my eyes, I was on a complete and utter roller-coaster with this book, with these characters and I loved every raw minute of it. An enemies to lovers story that is unique.

This is Jesse's story from his dark childhood, to his fame to hitting rock bottom and climbing back up with the help of the new light in his life... Mila

I listened to this in audio and boy did it bring it to life, Zachary Webber is an amazing narrator with a sultry voice, I love any book he narrates, haven't been disappointed yet, however, he is not so good at the female pov or a British accent but I soon got used to it. I think a female narrator for Mila's parts would have been far more effective.

LIMELIGHT can be read as a standalone, this is my first book by Alyson Santos and there were no spoilers or anything that left me feeling like I should have read previous books but I will definitely be reading more from this author. LIMELIGHT Leads to HEA

*Although Limelight touches on drug use it does not go into heavy details and rather focuses on the characters emotions and thought.

Stunningly good!

Everything about this audio is first class. Alyson Santos has written a phenomenally intense and richly drawn story and Zachary Webber brings it to aural life with skill, emotional intelligence and perfect vocal timing and expression. I don't think I have listened to anything better.
