Publisher's Summary

The only thing music publicist Courtney Lincoln dislikes more than knock-off sugary breakfast cereal is the hunky lead singer of her brother’s ridiculously popular band. A band on the rocks, again. Seems like this time it’ll take a miracle to save Dimefront.

So, when she discovers she’s pregnant following one teeny, tiny, mind-blowing morning with Brennan “Bax” Baxter, the timing is not great. Being a mom wasn’t part of her plan, but her plans just changed. Following the implosion of his engagement, Bax realizes he doesn’t want to lose Dimefront, too. But he’s finally let his guard down with Courtney in a steamy slip-up that ties them together as unlikely co-parents. The big problem? He broke the cardinal rule of music - don’t knock up the bass player’s little sister. Especially a little sister who sees straight through the façade he’s painstakingly curated. But he’s always wanted a family, and he’s being offered that chance. Plus, Courtney might just be exactly who he needs to keep him grounded. Even if the band can mend fences, there’s a baby on the way, and Courtney’s questioning everything she once thought. Bax is suddenly a dreamy boyfriend, but she isn’t convinced it’s authentic given all she knows about his rocker past.

As the group heads out on what they hope is a reunion tour, Bax and Courtney have to figure out what’s real, what’s not, and if they can learn to finally trust each other....

Enemies to Lovers Rockstar Romance

This second book in the Mile High Rocked series focused on Bax, the lead singer and Courtney, the band's publicist and Linx's sister.

Bax has a PR crisis when he and his fiance break up. Courtney is there to help him go into hiding. One thing leads into another and 5 weeks later, Courtney finds out that she and Bax now have a little baby on the way. This is when the timelines cross towards the end of Played by the Rockstar though this book can absolutely be read alone. I just though it was cool to see Bax's perspective on the band's reunion.

Courtney and Bax try to make a relationship work and do get together as they both fall in love with their "Little Bad Ass". There are lots of cute and endearing moments, though I will be honest, I would have done it a little differently from how Courtney handled their challenge towards the end.

Knox was a surprisingly lovable character. I cannot wait for his book to come out.

The audio version was narrated by Jason Clarke and Rose Dioro. I loved Rose's portrayal of Courtney. She just has this happiness to her voice that makes listening to her so easy. Jason sings a bit in this book so that is always a plus! Bax's cluelessness at times and his charm was well portrayed by Jason.

Left me wanting an encore!!

Knocked Up By The Rockstar by Christina Hovland is an accidental pregnancy, best friend/little sister and frenemies to lovers romance.

Bax is a huge (wink, wink) rockstar whose life is completely turned upside down when he is betrayed by his fiancé. Courtney is the sassy publicist for the band and the little sister of the bassist. One steamy shower scene later, Bax and Courtney are faced with all the decisions that come with an accidental pregnancy. Is a duet in the books for these two or just some co-parenting?

Rose Dioro and Jason Clarke are the narrators for this book. They did an amazing job bringing these characters to life for me. Rose did a wonderful job with conveying all the emotions that Courtney was feeling as a newly pregnant woman whose life was very much shaken up. Jason played the perfect cocky, yet vulnerable rockstar… not to mention his pirate accent is absolutely hilarious.

Knocked Up By The Rockstar is book 2 in the Mile High Rocked series but can be read/listened to as a stand-alone. I really enjoyed this book and the epilogue left me wanting an encore.
I loved seeing how Bax and Courtney’s story played out from being friends as children, then to frenemies and ending as lovers… along with a cute narrative filled with love, some drama and lots of laughs.

I loved this so much!

Courtney and Bax were childhood friends. She's now the bands publicist and one night they come to blows and became enemies ever since. She has to help him hide from the paparazzi and takes him home. One thing leads to another and, well, they get more than they bargained for. I loved this book so much! It was hot, had some humor and was sweet! I enjoyed their journey in getting to know each other again.
Rose Dioro and Jason Clarke were perfect as Courtney and Bax!!

Absolutely loved this audio book!!

I was first introduced to this group in Played by the Rockstar. I loved that audio book as well so i knew I would like this one.

This book is Bax and Courtney's story. Courtney is Linx's younger sister AND the bands publicist, so when Bax's engagement implodes, she's tasked with getting him away from the public eye. Only prob is that during his stay with her, they have a one night stand that ends up with her being pregnant.

The story is hilarious and so sweet. So many parts made me laugh...Dr. Pepper, the pink house, the pirate ship...

Sigh... I really enjoyed listening to this book and am looking forward to the next in the series!! The narrators did a great job on the book.. definitely kept my interest!!

I recieved an ALC for my honest review.

Love the Audiobook...Absolutely Fun!

Love, love this book even more than the first and that's saying something because I thought the first book in this particular series by Mrs. Hovland is fabulous...but this book is even better. I just think the narrators that performed this book did a spectacular job of nailing down the two main characters and all the side characters. Absolutely salivating for the third book in this series.

Great Rockstar Romance!

This is the second book in the Mile High Rocked Series, a spin off series of the Mile High Matched Series. This is a series of interconnected stories. I loved Courtney and Bax’s story. Courtney is Linx’s sister from Played by the Rockstar, the first book in the series. She is a beautiful character, funny, spontaneous, and talkative. Bax is the popular lead singer of the Dimefront band. He is handsome, supportive, and caring. The story is sweet, steamy, hilarious, and heartwarming, The supporting characters are great. Courtney’s family is awesome! I like the brotherhood in this story. This is a great addition to the series. Jason Clarke and Rose Dioro did an excellent job with the narration. They are perfect as Courtney and Bax. This is a great rockstar romance. Looking forward for more in the series!

Loved this so much!

THIS. AUDIO. IS. MAGIC.

Rose Dioro and Jason Clarke absolutely bring this story to life. Together they’ve created a delightful and heartfelt listening experience that I can’t get enough of!

Bax and Courtney are romcom perfection in this second book in the Mile High Rocked series! Pirate ships, healthy snacks and moments that will make you swoon are just a few things you’ll love about this book.

‘Everything about this moment whispered perfection.’

There’s tension - so much tension - that turns frenzied and explosive, but also so very sweet. It’s impossible to not love Courtney and Bax and absolutely all the shenanigans!

Knocked Up By the Rockstar is hilarious and heartfelt, and the kind of feel good story that still makes you smile long after it’s done.

Emotional, funny, well written and well narrated

I always know that I'm going to get a great romcom from Christina Hovland, and Knocked Up by the Rockstar was just what I wanted. We have former friends turned frenemies Bax and Courtney, who are now forever connected after letting their emotions get the best of them one night. But Courtney is so reluctant to really give Bax a chance because all she wants to do is find the Brennan that she know is there deep down inside.

Bax is in a spiral, and it takes almost losing what he didn't know he wanted to keep in order to turn himself around. While on the surface he seems like a bad boy rocker, Hovland wrote a truly swoony worthy, earnest, emotional and vulnerable male lead that is so much more than meets the eye. His connection with Courtney is soul deep, and has been laying dormant for years because he was hiding it, living down to everyone's expectations of him for so long because he couldn't let his heart want what it truly wanted.

I loved how Bax and Courtney were able to see past everyone else's perceptions of them and just be the two of them, learn each other's true characters again, and really bond. Sure, they were thrown together by the unexpected pregnancy, but on a so true level, they just really belong together.

The narration of this book is so well done. Jason Clarke really captures Bax's vulnerability, which is critical throughout this entire book. Rose Dioro as Courtney gives the perfect balance of determination, sweetness, understanding and skepticism that the character's journey needed. Her tone and delivery was flawless throughout. Together they both draw the listener in and keep you engrossed and invested. Loved every second of it!

Fun, Emotional and Steamy Romance!

I really enjoyed listening to this fun and steamy accidental pregnancy Rockstar romance! Bad boy rockstar, Bax is the lead singer of the popular band Dimefront. When he and his fiancé breakup suddenly, he needs a place to lie low for awhile. He ends up at Courtney's house, who is the younger sister to his best friend and bandmate, Linx. Growing up together, Courtney and Bax have had a tumultuous relationship. But one night, after a bit too much to drink, they have a night of hot passion that leads to Courtney getting pregnant. Courtney never expected Bax to be all in when she told him the news, and she wasn't sure how two people who fought so much, could raise a baby together. But as they spend more time together, they learn to like each other and their attraction and chemistry grows. They soon believe they can have a future as a loving family together. But life on the road can be hard, and when Bax's past tries to complicate things, will they be able to trust that what they have is real? Bax and Courtney are so great together, he is so sweet and swoony, and Courtney really challenges him, giving him what he has always wanted.
Rose Dioro and Jason Clarke did a great job bringing these characters and story to life. They delivered all the wit, emotion, and steam and I was totally lost in their performance. I really enjoyed listening to this fun, touching, sweet and steamy romance!

Surprise baby and rockstar romance? Yes please!

After listening to Played by the Rock Star earlier this year, I have wanted to get Courtney's story and Christina Hovland did not disappoint! I thoroughly enjoy her writing style. It is sexy, funny and low angst. Her characters are well developed and easy to fall for! Courtney is the publicist for her brother’s band, Dimefront. Bax is the lead singer and after some bad PR, Courtney has been assigned to the job of laying low with Bax. One thing leads another and after a steamy hook-up they get much more than they bargained for with the news of Courtney's pregnancy.

This story provides a ton of laughs, emotion, feels and of course romance. There was never a dull moment from beginning to end of this story. The banter, dialogue, family drama and connection between Courtney and Bax kept me engaged in the storyline and not wanting to stop listening until I finished. Courtney and Bax, went through many growth spurts throughout their relationship. I loved every moment as they discover their feelings go beyond much more than a co-parenting relationship.

Overall, this is such a fun, easy listen. I have listened to Rose Dioro and Jason Clarke before, but had never heard them together and they were a great pairing for this story. Rose's range of voice is fantastic. Her storytelling is animated and fun and she absolutely nailed the vulnerable, emotional side to her character as well. Jason Clarke is one of my absolute favorites. His talent knows no bounds. No matter what character he plays, he always puts a fresh spin on his characters and rock star Jason is my new favorite.

Definitely a good book

A lot of love, several good laughs, little drama, that was definitely a good book.

It revolves around two somewhat self-centered people who learn to really listen to someone else to know what they need–Bax with pregnant Courtney’s needs and wants, Courtney with their baby’s. It was interesting to follow the shift in their behavior. They aren’t bad people at the beginning, they just have a strong need to control everything.

Another shift: the change from enemies to lovers. Though we don’t see much of their feud–mostly some teasing and frowning–it is said that they have been bickering for years. And sure, they don’t always see eye to eye even when they decide to be co-parents. But the change is smooth, with feelings entering the equation.

The humor comes mostly from the side characters. Seriously, Knox is hilarious. So is Irina. The dynamics in the band, in Courtney’s family, are fun and energetic. But there’s also a lot of humor to find with the main characters. Bax is so clueless it’s even adorable, and his exchanges with Courtney often made me laugh.

As for the sexy? Let me just say: shower scene. I love a woman taking matters into her own hands–literally. Courtney is a strong character, in every way.

The audio was good. I felt the humor fell flat with the female narrator, but the male narrator had the right energy to deliver the lines. They both were good though, especially with emotions. It was a good way to enjoy this book.

Funny and emotional Rockstar Romance

I was impressed by this first book of Christina’s that I had heard. And I’m a sucker for all books about rockstars.

This is I guess book 2 of the series but I hadn’t known that going in and it was great as a standalone but I really want to hear all of the audiobooks about this band.

Right off the bat what intrigued me was the narrators selected to play Courtney Lincoln and Brennan “Bax” Baxter. Both such amazing actors at their craft.

Courtney is a gal who loves what she does as the band’s publicist for Dimefront her brother Linxs’ successful band. And it goes straight into her being pulled into holing up with the lead singer when Bax’s relationship with a cheating fiancée de-rails. She loves to argue with Bax, it seems to be their thing since there’s a history with Bax growing up with Linx and herself which made for formed opinions on what ‘Court’ thinks of her brothers best friends actions. There’s some really lol moments in this audiobook. Yet bickering with each other while Bax is Hiding out at Courtney’s place also seems to be more of a turn on for frontman Bax than Courtney ever know, wholly that’s one hot shower scene.

The realization that the one hot night that these two shared has led to them co-parenting a surprise baby is what the book was about. But Courtney isn’t sure Bax has what it takes to become a parent. I laughed at the antics of each of their families when the pregnancy is discovered. And also the antics of their other band mate Knox. So many lol situations that made this book so very enjoyable. And made me want to hear more of Linx and Knox too. Also excited to hear more about the new band members who joined the group recently.

Rose was spicy yet also vulnerable as Courtney and she really showed all of the emotions that pregnant Courtney goes through as the relationship grew between her and Bax. Jason played Bax off so amazingly too. As we see him grow into a responsible dad to be and his emotions also come out and I heard the maturing Bax does. The best part is hearing Jason sing, swoony voice for sure!

This is a beautiful story about acceptance and love, that included family and friends. It also had some situations where it made me wonder will these two truly have a future together especially when Bax makes a song about his cheating ex😳. All I can say is Courtney has a lot of trust and is hopeful that a real relationship with Bax will come. And of course I really do love a HEA.

Laugh out loud AND romantic!!!

Do you ever get tired of being a rockstar? Recently ending a relationship and not being happy anymore as the lead singer of Dimefront, Bax is facing this question. Life altering decisions leads him to Courtney's door and both having a bad decision day, end up with an even bigger life change. Now pregnant, Courtney and Bax take on their new challenge and realize their feelings are much bigger than they thought. Who knew all that negative banter was foreplay? But there are even more things to sort through! With the rest of the band next to Bax and Courtney, we get the best friend's sister issue, as well as the choices of what to do with the rest of their lives. In true Christina Hovland fashion, she treats us to the second book of the Mile High Rocked series, with a funny, slightly taboo, rockstar romance. I love Hovland's writing style! She takes on these incredible characters and gives them real life problems that we can relate to and then adds in the humor to make us smile. It's a fun, easy listen and I absolutely fell for Bax as well as loved Linx's brotherly protection! Fun! Fun! Fun!

Narrated by Jason Clarke and Rose Dioro, I knew I was in for a fantastic listen. These two are so well matched! Clarke takes on Bax with his alpha tendencies, but that lost vulnerability too. He easily becomes his character and even gives us a quick tune! Courtney is a tough, independent woman, and Dioro comes in full force with the quick witted attitude! I love how she molds into Courtney. These two enhanced this romcom adding a wonderful listen to the series!

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧 A Heartfelt Delight!

I loved everything about this audiobook, from Christina Hovland’s wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines lines she created to the fantastic narration performed by Jason Clarke and Rose Dioro. I loved Ms. Hovland’s “Mile High Matched” series, and it is great to see her spinning that series off to another of my favorite tropes “Rockstar” romance and she keeps true to her style delivering an original story that contains the perfect balance of drama, a touch of angst, some humor, heartfelt emotions and romance. This second book of the series stands on its own, you will meet characters from the first book and some from her other series but they are reintroduced and everything you need to know about them is told so you never feel like something is missing. Brennan Baxter is the front man of “Dimefront”, a band he and his friend Cedric “Linx” Lincoln formed, the band is on a hiatus while they try to figure out what they want to do next. Linx’s sister Courtney is the band’s publicist, she has known Bax and liked him better in his younger years when he was just Brennan, he has since become a typical rocker with a “perpetual asshat attitude”. But when Bax catches his finance cheating he breaks things off and then spins out of control. The band’s manager, Hans, calls Courtney to help get Bax under control and out of the eye of the media. He tells her to hide him out in her apartment until they can figure something else out. Courtney was not happy about that but she would make it work and she goes beyond that by helping him, was it to comfort him or make him forget or a momentary lap in judgment, either way it ended in one steamy encounter in more ways than one. They parted ways after agreeing to never discuss what happened between them, he went to go stay with Knox and she goes back to her life, except that one encounter had repercussions and it changes her life the way she knew it. This is a wonderfully plotted frenemies to lovers romance, the witty dialogue between these two characters is absolutely brilliant, sometimes maddening but most times hilarious, what came out of Knox’s mouth was hilarious too, I am looking forward to his and Irena’s story. It was also great to see Babushka again too. Christina Hovland, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Jason Clarke and Rose Dioro are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the character to sound. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they captured the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. They set the perfect tone for the story, handled the witty dialogue with ease and landed the humor flawlessly. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen.
