Single father romance

Griffin's main priority is his son Levi and then his restaurant King's. A relationship was never on his radar until he meets his neighbor Ava. The attraction is instant.

Ava has trust issues when it comes to men. Being cheated on in the past has left her with a wall around her heart. When she meets Griffin there's an instant attraction and she adores his son Levi, but as they spend more time together and feelings get stronger will Ava give Griffin a chance or will she let her HEA get away.

Ash’s reads are always a good time—and I’m loving all the ‘Fighting’ books because there’s crossover and I get to see how previous leads ended up. Very nice touch.

He’s a reformed manwh0re and she’s been burned one too many times, so she friendzones him. Oh and he has an adorable kid—making the whole thing light and fun.

Single dad

I love Nikki's books, and while this was a cute story, I couldn't really connect to it like I had her previous books. It seemed like the whole focus was on Ava's past trauma. While it was definitely a big part of her life and why she was like that, it just went over a tad for me. I love single parent trope, so definitely give it a chance. Overall, I don't regret listening to it.

This was my first time listening to these narrators. They did a good job portraying the characters.

Let’s Tacobout this book!

This was a quick listen that you can definitely relate to. I loved Ava, Levi and Griffin along with all the side characters. The story was super sweet and love the epilogue! Would recommend!

Tacos, Toys, and New Neighbors

I'm here for the instant sparks between Griffin King and Ava Milano when Griffin and Levi move in next door to Ava. Admittedly, I like that dates with others occur when they aren't in a relationship. It's realistic and appreciated.

As much as I like the love story, I'm torn between the punny taco t-shirts and the insta-love between eight-year-old Levi and mischief making pup Maverick as my favorite part of this. There's also the "sword" fight with 🍆 toys that Ava sells as a side hustle that is priceless. The puns and "sword" fight are hilarious, but the love between a boy and (not) his dog.... Fine, Levi and Maverick win that title. 🙎‍♂️🐶

I get being affected by multiple cheating exes, but it may have been harped on too much for my liking. OK, it was too much for me. She acknowledges that they really were duds, and she should've moved on sooner. In my opinion, the issues it causes are a little overdrawn. It's the only thing that really didn't work for me.

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators are Marlaina Garrett and Duncan Prescott. I enjoyed listening to both of them. Ava comes with a thick accent that both do a pretty good job with.

Great Story & Narration🎧 Sweet & Spicy!

Nikki Ash pens another fabulous novel, a charming single dad/neighbors to lovers romantic comedy that captivates your attention, tugs at your heartstrings and puts a smile on your face. Life or being a single dad has not always been easy for Griffin, but he is finally at a place where he feels comfortable, his business is doing well and he is managing parenthood well, too. Ava has not had luck with romantic relationships, with her last two ending badly and leaving her with serious trust issues, but she kept her sense of humor, and it showed in her T-shirt collection. Her first time meeting her new neighbors is thanks to her dog, Maverick, who runs over to them and takes a liking, or more of a licking, of the young boy, successfully knocking him down and almost his dad, too. Maverick took both by surprise, and while he swept Levi off his feet, Ava swept Griffin off of his, feeling an instant attraction. Ava was not interested, but Griffin was not giving up on her. I enjoyed watching them get to know each other, Levi included, who Ava was great with. This is a wonderfully plotted story with the perfect balance of drama, low on the angst, humor with some hilarious scenes including sword fights, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Nikki Ash, thanks for another fantastic story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧  Duncan Prescott and Marlaina Garrett did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life, giving each a voice that was fitting, accent and all. I loved how they took their roles and ran with them, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters would sound. Prescott nailed it as Griffin, showcasing his personality and demeanor perfectly, and Garret did the same as Ava, and was just as fabulous in her role. Both were great at performing the roles of the secondary/side characters, Levi included. Their pacing and tone were just right for the story, and their performance expressed all the characters’ emotions, allowing you to feel them all. They are entertaining storytellers, and their captivating performance keeps you glued to the story.

A great spicy neighbor next door romance.
Ava doesn’t want to get in another serious relationship since she was burned twice. That doesn’t mean she won’t play around.
Griffin, the protective dad, wants someone who would accept a package deal.
Griffin saw that Ava was different.
He noticed how she interacted with his son.
Levi is Griffin’s precocious 8 yr old. He had me laughing as he played swords, spilled family secrets and loved playing with Ava’s dog, Maverick.
Plenty of angst, doubts, laughter but in a true Nikki Ash story a HEA that will melt your heart.
Duncan Prescott and Marlaina Garrett bring laughter and joy to this wonderful story.

Knocked Down!

I loved every bit of this story! The characters are strong and likable. The narration was great and really brought the characters and their story to life. The story is fairly short and very addictive. Definitely some entertaining bits especially when a certain package is opened by a young man. Poor thing, his father took his swords away. LMAO! The story is about Ava, Griffin and the adorable Levi. Ava and Griffin live nest door to each other. She has had a couple of bad relationships that have her swearing off men. Griffin, a single father of Levi, is trying to run his restaurant and raise his son. He meets his neighbor and falls for her first. Getting Ava to trust again is not going to be easy. This is a fun story with some seriousness, drama and steamy goodness.

Fun Story!

This was a short fun romance about 2 neighbors (Griffin and Ava) meeting when Ava was walking her dog.  Griffin’s son Levi loved her dog Maverick and this started their friendship.  Griffin wanted to be with Ava, but she was burned too many times by men and she didn’t want to get involved.  Griffin and Levi started breaking down her walls because Griffin felt she was the one.  I loved all the Taco shirts and puns.  I really enjoyed all the supporting characters in this book.  The narration was very good and made the story fun to listen to.

Entertaining read

Knocked Down is the fourth book in the Fighting Love series. It’s a single parent, neighbors to lovers romance. This was a cute, quick read that had really good funny moments as well as steamy scenes. Griffin and Ava were relatable characters and the taco puns made for great entertainment.

Duncan Prescott and Marlaina Garrett did a really good job narrating this book.
