Publisher's Summary

Diane Mott Davidson, author of the best selling culinary mystery series, once again successfully melds a robust murder mystery with a collection of fine gourmet recipes. In Killer Pancake, amateur sleuth Goldy faces her toughest challenge yet.

While catering a cosmetics company luncheon, Goldy witnesses the hit and run death of a rising young sales associate. Could the death have anything to do with the animal rights picket line in the parking lot...or with the exotic blue rose found next to the victim's body?

Under the spell of Barbara Rosenblat's skillful narration, listeners will feel the urge to bite their nails as they realize that, this time, Goldy's bitten off more than she can chew. Luckily, Ms. Davidson's tempting recipes for Fudge Soufflé and Killer Pancakes provide a tasty alternative.

Killer Book

This mystery is as good as it gets. I couldn't stop listening to this book.

Profanity

I agree with Lauren. I was very taken aback to hear the constant taking of the Lord's name in vain. To me that's worse than a bushel of damns and hells. Glad the others in the series to seem to do then same. At least not yet.

THE NARRATION RUINS IT.

Would you try another book from Diane Mott Davidson and/or Barbara Rosenblat?

I might read another in paperback.

What could Diane Mott Davidson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Get a different narrator.

What didn’t you like about Barbara Rosenblat’s performance?

The narration was a nasal, grating, New York, tough chick that did not match the character.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I was so annoyed by the narration I couldn't get through to chapter 3, so I am really angry I wasted my money.

Any additional comments?

I will try this in a paperback. The narration is too annoying.

It is light but not silly. Combines cooking with romance and murder. What more can you ask?

good book

the amount of time the lead character spends talking to the murderer in each of these books is astonishing. while the storyline is good, and the characters are believable, the lead character is a cross between the pink panther and Martha Stewart. how she bumbles into solving the case is beyound me. still not buying the psych degree. the narrator brought the characters to life.
