“A series that remains as reliable and satisfying as a favorite casserole recipe.”
Cleveland Plain Dealer

Colorado caterer Goldy Schulz encounters Bridezilla—and murder—in Fatally Flaky, another delectable mystery by Diane Mott Davidson. The USA Today and New York Times bestselling author of Double Shot, Dark Tort, and Sweet Revenge whom the Baltimore Sun describes as, “a cross between Mary Higgins Clark and Betty Crocker” is “today’s foremost practitioner of the culinary whodunit” according to Entertainment Weekly. Fatally Flaky is Diane Mott Davidson at her mysterious and mouth-watering best.

This is a nice addition to a wonderful series. Try the recipies at the end. They are really good!

Wonderful series

I really enjoy this series and love Barbara Rosenblat’s narration, but the music at the end of some of the chapters is disruptive. The music doesn’t even fit the theme of the story. It is so random and goes on too long between chapters. The performance would have been 5 stars if the music had been edited out.

Great Story. Terrible Music.

The recording is messed up. The editing is terrible with chapters ending oddly and strange music coming on in the lull that continues through the first few sentences of the next chapter. Rosenblat is her usual genius. In spite of the holes in the story I still love Goldy!!

Production Blues

the story and the performance are top notch. what I didn't like about this book was the addition of the music every so often. it completely ruined the flow of the story.

could do without the music

i think this book is one of her best, i also like the narrator. She is really good with that voice of hers

great book

I enjoyed the story and the narrative.

I really did not enjoy the transition music. I usually listen while I cook and the music always made me stop and think there was someone trying to reach me.

Loved the story did not like the music.

The music at the ends and beginnings of chapters was very annoying. Especially at the beginning of chapters as the narration would begin with the music
still playing.

Music?

The music between several of the chapters is annoying and takes the reader out of the mood of the book. It often cuts off the previous chapter abruptly, then plays over the narrator for several seconds into the next chapter. Change this and the performance of the book was great, as usual, and the story good fun.

I categorize the Goldie mysteries as brain candy; fun to read, little substance. This was no exception, and I enjoyed it. Barbara Rosenblatt doesn't sound like Goldie to me, but she's always a great narrator, so no complaints.

Goldie is fun, and fun is all you get

This audio book was, well... odd. The producers cut in what sounded like 80's elevator music at the chapter changes, and faded them out while the narration began. I like this series- it isn't brilliant, but brilliance isn't what I am looking for in "theme mysteries". They just have to be fun. This was ok, but I probably will avoid the audio versions of this series in the future- the production quirks were a distraction.

Odd Audio...
