Publisher's Summary

Dr. Dylan Reinhart and Detective Elizabeth Needham - now known to audiences from the top-rated CBS series - reunite to stop the most sinister plot against New York City since 9/11.

The murder of an Ivy League professor pulls Dr. Dylan Reinhart out of his ivory tower and onto the streets of New York, where he reunites with his old partner, Detective Elizabeth Needham. As the worst act of terror since 9/11 strikes the city, a name on the casualty list rocks Dylan's world. Is his secret past about to be brought to light?

As the terrorist attack unfolds, Elizabeth Needham does something courageous that thrusts her into the media spotlight. She's a reluctant hero. And thanks to the attention, she also becomes a prime target for the ruthless murderer behind the attack.

Dylan literally wrote the book on the psychology of murder, and he and Elizabeth have solved cases that have baffled conventional detectives. But the sociopath they're facing this time is the opposite of a textbook case. There's no time to study for the test he's about to give them. And if they fail, they die.

Terrorism in NYC...

This book is excellent! I was completely engrossed in this story from beginning to end. Espionage, terrorism and action. Who could ask for anything more?
Dylan Reinhart is the main character. College professor, ex CIA, gay , married and father to an adopted one year old daughter. When bombs detonate in NYC his husbands out and about with their daughter and supposed to be on the vicinity of one of the bombs. This sparks Dylan’s involvement into a twisted terrorism scheme to once again target NY.
Very entertaining and fast paced. A few surprises from characters who are not what they seem.
Edoardo Ballerini does an outstanding job narrating.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

not bad but stop with the political viewpoint.

It was ok but we could have done without the homosexual part. I might have followed the character and even listened to the first story. Really, it added nothing to the story.

Terrific and fast paced!

This book is very fast paced and the story has many interesting twists and turns. It’s especially fun if you’ve watched the tv series, although it was weird having Dylan with a different voice. Julian did not disappoint.

Liberals will love it

The main character Dylan Reinhart is gay, married and father to an adopted one year child. Patterson pushes the fake news narrative that Russia interfered with America’s presidential elections and finally more profanity then is necessary especially taking the Lords name in vane. Liberals will love it.
He did choose the best narrator in Edoardo Ballerini however.
