Darkness falls.... Despair abounds.... Evil reigns….
Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have just saved the rebel state from destruction by the mighty forces of King Galbatorix, cruel ruler of the Empire. Now Eragon must travel to Ellesméra, land of the elves, for further training in magic and swordsmanship, the vital skills of the Dragon Rider. It is the journey of a lifetime, filled with awe-inspiring new places and people, each day a fresh adventure. But chaos and betrayal plague him at every turn, and Eragon isn't sure whom he can trust.
Meanwhile, his cousin Roran must fight a new battle back home in Carvahall - one that puts Eragon in even graver danger.
Will the king's dark hand strangle all resistance? Eragon may not escape with even his life....
What disappointed you about Eldest - Part One?
The narrator. The story is brilliant!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Saphira, but the Narrator killed her voice. It is supposed to be nice and pleasant sounding voice yet he gives her a gravely throat cancer voice which made me cringe every time she had a vocal line.
Would you be willing to try another one of Gerrard Doyle’s performances?
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Eldest - Part One?
This is the best book in the world and the guy who reads it is really good!!!

ive always loved tbis narator and once i got used to the narator i was verry pleased i will say there were some issues in the recording with skipping and volume vut all in all a good experince
As with the first book it is great! But again the voice for Saphira just doesn't fit.
The series is the best books I have ever read they just get better and better. It is a real page turner and it takes you into a magical land of elves, dragons, riders, dwarfs and lots and lots of magic!!!!!❗️❕‼️
I’m glad there’s more to the story, I was so lost in this like the first book. Now time to start the third book now.
The follow up is always the hardest but despite the slow middle the story rolls on and the story teller does a good enough job to keep you from turning off.
An interesting introduction to fantasy, good for first timers like myself, series has me on edge.
An addictive story that has been excellently narrated. The plot makes this audiobook a must and its tone and characters are perfectly captured by Doyle's narration.
Well, i can say its all well read apart from the voices of the dragons and the werecats, in my opinion they are jarring and ugly where they should be powerful and impressive, it's akin to a tiger trying to roar but instead grunting like a pig. Once one gets used to that its perfectly brilliant!
I've read all the books a number of times and I fell in love when I first read them but having them read to me has made me fall in love all over again. overall, the series is amazing and as an audiobook it's like your actually there. 5 stars all day long :)
I've always loved fanyasy fiction like this and this book can stand easily among some of the best (not that I've read or listened to many) but I do always compare to the epic that is Lord of the Rings. Would recommend this easily! I just wish a movie was made to the quality of the book.
