Publisher's Summary

A New York Times best seller

One of the world’s legendary artists and best-selling author of The Creative Habit shares her secrets - from insight to action - for harnessing vitality, finding purpose as you age, and expanding one’s possibilities over the course of a lifetime in her newest New York Times best seller Keep It Moving

At 78, Twyla Tharp is revered not only for the dances she makes - but for her astounding regime of exercise and nonstop engagement. She is famed for religiously hitting the gym each morning at daybreak and utilizing that energy to propel her breakneck schedule as a teacher, writer, creator, and lecturer. This audiobook grew out of the question she was asked most frequently: “How do you keep working?”

Keep It Moving is a series of no-nonsense mediations on how to live with purpose as time passes. From the details of how she stays motivated to the stages of her evolving fitness routine, Tharp models how fulfillment depends not on fortune - but on attitude, possible for anyone willing to try and keep trying. Culling anecdotes from Twyla’s life and the lives of other luminaries, each chapter is accompanied by a small exercise that will help anyone develop a more hopeful and energetic approach to the everyday.

Twyla will tell you what the beauty-fitness-wellness industry won’t: Chasing youth is a losing proposition. Instead, Keep It Moving focuses you on what’s here and where you’re going - the audiobook for anyone who wishes to maintain their prime for life.

PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

Narration is so difficult to listen to

I think this author may have good advice, but she really should have hired a professional reader. Reading for an audience is a skill that takes practice, just like dancing. I actually exchanged the book (first time I’ve ever done that).

Stick with it

I am writing this review because even though there are Many books of this type on the market the observations of the author are very interesting and unique. I would recommend this book to everyone or anyone who’s body suddenly felt like the enemy.

Love her but voice over not good.

Love that Twyla made a real living for so long as a choreographer and dancer. That alone is a major feat! I know the percentage of an author's take increases if they do their own voice over but this is a situation where she should have had a professional do the read. Her scolding, odd delivery was very distracting to the work. I support her for all she has done but she should have let her words shine wit a professional delivery of her words. choreographers know that movement needs to have variety and move through space in many dimensions she should have known so does vocal intonation. I admire her immensely just a bad artistic decision with the voice over.

Enjoyed the insights from dance applied to life. Her voice is not the easiest to listen to. The Pdf files make it easy to review her advice.

Can’t get over the author’s voice

I’m very interested in what Twyla Tharp is saying. But I don’t know why she didn’t outsource the voice over for the reader and instead she’s reading it herself. I’m sorry, but i can’t get over her monotonous, frail, quivering voice. And it sounds like she has dentures that haven’t been glued properly.

Actionable Wisdom

The author shares her stories, experiences, wit, and wisdom in an entertaining and informative narrative. Each chapter is organized around a recommendation for taking action to improve your physical, mental, and emotional life. The author explains the science behind the recommendations without losing the audience in arcane details. Helpful for all ages, the author tells you how to keep moving through the changes of aging. I enjoyed listening to the author. The audiobook has an accompanying pdf of the exercises. I also bought the Kindle book to make it easier to review the principles taught in each lesson because I think they are that valuable.

Amazing and Inspiring

This remarkable woman is one of the icons of the dance world. She is no less amazing as she ages. In fact, she is more amazing than ever with her 'shut up and dance' attitude. Who wouldn't want to be like her!!!! Love her!!!

Fabulously inspiring

Fabulously inspiring, with an original voice both spoken and written, so good I’ve shared it with my daughter.
