Publisher's summary

Instincts are all we have to rely on.
And mine were spot on.

There are a few things I don’t like to talk about in life.
My father.
And Kansas.
I hate him, and I hate that godforsaken state.
To this day, I haven’t loved because there’s a fear.
An inkling.
An instinct that I will be just like him.
I convinced myself our blood was rotten, tainted, and sour.
I believe I didn’t have the ability to be faithful or loyal.
But then after a blizzard, a sailboat washed to shore.

And she was there.
She’s here at the clubhouse now.
Violet Winston.
A name that matches the fields of lavender of her eyes.
I have no right to want her.
I can’t love her.
I’ll ruin her.
The more I get to know her, the harder I fall.
Usually, there’s a calm after the storm.
But not this time....
Between her father being a drug dealer.
The drugs hidden in the boat.
And the man that wants his drugs.
We are about to feel the havoc of a hurricane.
Truths hit us out of nowhere and they hurt worse than a lie ever did.
Love tests us and rips us open. Friendships are lost. Loyalty is damned.

I’m not in Kansas anymore.
But Jersey hurts just the same.

Poorly written/audio

I’ve been reading this authors books for a while and this by far is the worst book and the audio actors were awful. Their tones and lack of emotions . It was brutal but I had to get through it.

Your not in Kansas anymore

Kansas is definitely a great character and I actually wish he was part of the main Ruthless Kings M.C chapter. His woman is the perfect match

Kansas & Violet

This was a good story. I wished there could have been a little more of the ending though. I loved both characters and really loved Kansas' big and dirty self. I liked how the author address his "kink" and why things were that way. I cant wait to listen to more of this series.

There's no place like home

This was the second book in the AC series and takes place shortly after the events of Boomer's Rise. Kansas was part of the original AC chapter and suffered greatly during the last reign. Violet sailed into his life after getting caught in a horrible storm. Little do they know the storm is far from over.

Even though I am still enjoying the AC series, I don't feel like it has the same punch as the Vegas chapter series. Maybe I'm just not involved enough with the characters yet, but I feel like the AC stories are a little tamer and a little less traumatizing than I'm used to with K.L.'s books. That being said, this was still a great book. Amos (aka Kansas) falls hard and fast for Violet and she for him. Pretty standard stuff. What really sets this one apart for me is their openess and experimentation. Kansas knows what he likes and instead of passing judgment or being timid in her lack of experience, Violet is more than encouraging in it.

Both narrators are new to me and did a good job. I had a bit of difficulty with the pacing difference between the two (one seemed to move the story along quite quickly compared to the other) but overall it was fine. I will say the female narrator nailed the Irish accent even if it's a brief part of the story.

I feel like the pace of the whole story was like little waves crashing one after another. After they got together there were many bursts of chaos but they settled pretty quickly. I feel like the story was quite fast. The big reveals were pretty good and not overly expected however by the time I got to the final reveal I felt like we had already passed the climax. Maybe there were too many reveals too close together? Again, it could be just due to the fact that this feels like a milder story so the high points kind of flow together. Not a bad thing at all, just not what I expected. 4/5 story and 3/5 narration.

All in all it was a sweet romance with a satisfying ending that still leaves room for many more stories to come.

Hey, there hotness!!!

This is only the second story in the Ruthless Kings Atlantic City and I NEED more!!!! From the prologue, you immediately understand the how Amos became Kansas, far before he joined the MC. Now as acting Vice President, Kansas is truly ruthless and further hardened. Then Violet and her sister literally wash up outside the Kings clubhouse and he finds himself curious. Violet is the definition of inexperienced and in a way naive, but she is perfect for him. A lot of twists and turns happen in this book and we meet Violet's godfather, who is the last person you would expect. I thoroughly enjoyed the hawt parts and I want to find me a Kansas because he is one dirty and sexy man!! I listened to the audio version and Tristan James and Mia Madison, were perfect as Kansas and Violet.

A Great Addition to the Ruthless Kings Family

I have really come to enjoy the backstories for each MC character, but I really enjoyed Kansas and Violet's story. Though they come from opposite home lives, their stories are very much the same. Both find they are living a life that's a lie, but how they both come to grips with their truths and find each other and love is what makes this story a really great one. The story is suspenseful, has some action, drama, and definitely some pretty steamy scenes. I can't wait to see read the next installment in the Atlantic City Charter.

Narrators Tristan James and Mia Madison were new to me. Though it did take me a while to warm up to Tristan, he and Mia did a great job bringing Kansas and Violet to life.

Kansas by KL Savage MC romance

The audible book brought the words written by KL Savage to life. The reading elicited many emotions in the reading. It was like listening to the book on a radio broadcast!

Another great book!!

I loved Kansas’s story. Violet is perfect for him. They went through so much in life. They healed each other. Tristan James is one of my favorite narrators. He did such a great job. Mia Madison is also a great narrator. They both did an awesome job.
