Publisher's summary

“Fans of romantic comedies should grab a copy of Just a Name; it has the perfect balance between sweet and sassy.” (Readers’ Favorite)

Holly has a plan for everything. But she never could have planned for this.

Holly Murphy’s perfectly planned life is not going so well. Her fiancé recently dumped her, the team she supervises at work secretly hates her, and now the promotion she’s worked so hard for is in jeopardy.

Thinking that maybe Holly is too tightly wound and needs a break from everything, Holly’s boss demands she take a vacation. Holly’s best friend Quinn comes up with a wild idea for Holly to do a nationwide search for a man with the same name as her ex-fiancé to go with her on her honeymoon trip. That idea is a no-go for play-it-safe Holly, until her boss finds out and loves the idea.

Resigned, Holly gives in and starts the nationwide search, and when handsome Nate Jones from Newport Beach gets picked to go with her, she wonders if this whole thing won’t be so bad after all.

Will Holly learn that sometimes even the best laid plans need to be thrown out the window once in a while? Or will it send her running and screaming back to her safety net?

"Just a Name is delicious escape! I devoured every character, every moment, and every quirk and couldn't get enough. This book is Becky Monson at her finest!" (Author Whitney Dineen)

Cute story

But the reader sounded hyperactive. It detracted from the story. Too much frenetic energy. Somebody who could be both calm and excited would have done the story much better service.

Such a fun read.

I truly enjoyed this story and the narrator made you feel as if Holly was there with you. The only downfall in my own opinion is the men’s monotone voices - they didn’t give much of an experience like Holly’s voice. Overall, Tayler Mettra was fantastic.

Cute story

I really liked the story, but there were quite a few swear words, and even more fake swearing that was unnecessary.

A fun read

I listened to the audiobook and think the narrator's voice helped me get into Holly's head because she wouldn't have sounded the same in my imagination. Because the book is from Holly's point of view you 'hear' everything Holly's thinking, which sometimes felt as if I were in a hyperactive person's brain (Holly thinks about EVERYTHING), and lots of times it was hilarious.

Holly is a workaholic who never uses her vacation days, which I can't relate to at all. Se works at a bank so she gets all the federal holidays off with pay, but who thinks those are a substitute for a real vacation? Well, Holly does. Now her supervisor's basically forcing her to take a vacation. Her friends tell her to go on the trip to Europe that was supposed to be her honeymoon, until her fiancé broke up with her three months before the wedding. There's a slight problem--she has to find a guy with the same name as her ex-fiancé so he can use the other ticket. The search is on for a Nate Jones. Will Holly be able to go on this forced vacation and not try to manage her team via long distance?

Not only was Holly a workaholic, but she seemed to be a micro-manager too--she plans out everything! She's constantly worried about her team's performance and how it will affect her upcoming promotion, but she doesn't really know how to motivate them. I did love her group of friends and how they supported her. I liked when her ex-fiancé's best friend joined her in the middle of her vacation, and helped her learn to slow down, relax and enjoy the little things. Not everything has to be planned and scheduled.

There are some mild words and the first letter of a few others.

Great Narration!

This is such a fun series. The narrator did such a great job bringing the book to life. Her talent made this a great book to listen to. I'm a little disappointed that the other books don't have the same narrator. Tayler Mettra will be a hard act to follow.

Fun listen!

Holly just can't catch a break. Her fiance dumped her, the team that she manages hates her and the promotion that she has been working for May be in jeopardy. To help impress her manager, Holly is forced to take an unwanted but overdo vacation. On top of that she keeps bumping into her ex-fiance's roomate, who hates her.

This was a fun listen with lots of humor. I loved Holly's group of friends, it would be great to hear their stories. The book was well written and narrated.

I was given this audio book at my request and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion in this review.
