After finding out that my boyfriend cheated on me, I packed my bags and moved to Sunshine Falls. My uncle's ready to retire, and he has always dreamed of me taking over his partnership at the animal clinic in town.

My surprise came when he introduced me to my new partner—and it's the cute guy I was talking to at the coffee shop. It's okay, though. I'm not looking for a relationship. My priorities are my career and starting over.

Nice feel good read

I wish the author knew more about animals. Some of the things kinda killed the vibe for me and distracted from the story line.

Meh story

Ivan was a compelling and mostly well-written character, as was his family. Madison felt like a cardboard afterthought. The writing overall felt like a basic knockoff Hallmark wannabe special.

the narrators were great and the story was a cute clean rom-com. this was the first book that I listened to from this author and I'm looking forward to listening to more of her books! they're great and they keep your interest!!

Okay but a pass

Although the story was entertaining enough to finish, nothing actually happened. The dad jokes were definitely a “you hav to be there” for it to be funny.
Also, when she met the family the “I feel like a Van Gogh in a garage/yard sale” comment was very rude and came across sideways towards the Hispanic (Dominican) culture. I even asked people to see if it was just me be but no it did indeed come off as a passive slur. Comparing herself to a Van Gogh and the family and environment to nothing but a garage sale.

Real voice actors!

It ended too abruptly for my liking but the story was super sweet and the voice actors are great, so much better than virtual voice.
