Nice feel good read

I wish the author knew more about animals. Some of the things kinda killed the vibe for me and distracted from the story line.

Meh story

Ivan was a compelling and mostly well-written character, as was his family. Madison felt like a cardboard afterthought. The writing overall felt like a basic knockoff Hallmark wannabe special.

Such a cute romance story!

The great story

Sweet love story at the Vet’s office

What I like most about this story is the natural way the romance develops between Ivan and Madison, 2 vets who find themselves working together at the same animal care office. Good characters, fun setting, plenty of humor, well narrated. Recommended!

Okay but a pass

Although the story was entertaining enough to finish, nothing actually happened. The dad jokes were definitely a “you hav to be there” for it to be funny.
Also, when she met the family the “I feel like a Van Gogh in a garage/yard sale” comment was very rude and came across sideways towards the Hispanic (Dominican) culture. I even asked people to see if it was just me be but no it did indeed come off as a passive slur. Comparing herself to a Van Gogh and the family and environment to nothing but a garage sale.

Small town banterfest

This is my first book by this author, and, to be honest, I was hesitant to read this one (I still have mixed thoughts about clean romance, you see!). However, this is set in a small town with a dorky hero who is practically dominated by his sisters and female cousins (let us also not forget those cute and cuddly animals mentioned), so I realized I would miss a lot if I didn't continue reading this. Turns out this one is a banterfest. The writing and dialogue are so well-written that I practically overlooked the fact that their chemistry and attraction to each other were not explored in depth. I absolutely adored the familial banter of the hero's side of the family. Their love language to him is to mercilessly tease him, and while he gets exasperated most times, he still allows them to continue on because he knows they mean well.

I should also not forget the hero's dorkiness. He may not be your usual hero, but his cinnamon roll disposition makes him equally lovable. I absolutely adored the drive thru cinema scene.

The narration is also easy on the ears, if you know what I mean. The comedic timing is on point, although there were times when Neva Nevarre's Spanish/Cuban accent reminded me of Sofia Vergara.

All in all, this was a fun, easy read. I would have loved it more if there were more kilig moments between the two (something I usually expect to find in clean romances). Regardless, it was still a fun read. This will definitely not be my last book by the author.

Real voice actors!

It ended too abruptly for my liking but the story was super sweet and the voice actors are great, so much better than virtual voice.

I do love corny rom-coms. Love the interactions with the lead characters and the cheesy lines and nick names.

Wonderful, Clean Story with Excellent Narration

A fun story clean enough to listen to with your kids but deep enough to keep you interested. The comedy was will distributed and wonderful.

I really loved the insecure personalities and the way that they mature.

it would make a solid travel listen, but we listened as a couple and loved the surprises. So much laughter!!!
