Why won’t God reveal his special will for my life already? Because he doesn’t intend to.... So says Kevin DeYoung in this punchy book about making decisions the godly way. Many of us are listening for the still small voice to tell us what’s next instead of listening to the clear voice in scripture telling us what’s now.

God does have a will for your life, but it is the same as everyone else’s: Seek first the kingdom of God. And quit floundering.

With pastoral wisdom and tasteful wit, DeYoung debunks unbiblical ways of understanding God’s will and constructs a simple but biblical alternative: Live like Christ. He exposes the frustrations of our waiting games and unfolds the freedom of finding God’s will in scripture and then simply doing it. This book is a call to put down our Magic 8-Balls and pick up God’s Word. It’s a call to get wisdom, follow Christ, be holy, and live freely. To just do something.

It gave me.a new way of thinking about God's will. This will be helpful for future conversations I am anticipating with others.

Honestly, I have no critical feedback. I loved it and have already shared it with others.

Great!

Don’t read this if you want to know what to do with your life. Read this if you want to learn about how to CHOOSE what you do with your life. This books doesn’t answer questions, but it shows you how to answer them yourself

I love this perspective I wish I read this earlier in my life.

It was a nice point of view. If I read this earlier in my life I probably would've been better with my decision in life.

Wow!!!!

I didn’t think I needed to read this because I generally understood God’s will for my life according to Scripture. But I had read Crazy Busy years ago and a friend said she was going to read this.

I’m the one paralyzed by making the “wrong” decision. Paralysis by analysis. Is this what God wants me to do? Should we move? Do we stay? We can’t afford to have kids here but there never felt like a “spiritual enough” reason to do certain things.

This book was convicting and freeing all together. Thank you so much for this book & referencing Scripture!

Good book but totally goes against T.U.L.I.P

Yet he claims to be a Calvinist and I agree with going against the T.U. L.I. P. teaching

Sooo good!!

Finally a Christian book about a healthy perspective on being in God’s will and what it’s like to walk in it.

I wish I had read this book when I was 18

For years I myself was using all of these faulty techniques (thrown a fleece out anyone?) to try and discern the will of God for my life, leading to much confusion and doubt.

This brisk, breezy book shows that God's will can be known and it's also exceedingly practical.

I also enjoyed the narration.

Succinct and Bible sourced

I liked how short this book was, but also that it was trustworthy because the author used God’s word to back up his points.
