I Believe ... But Takes Some Getting Used To

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I have studied the Law of Attraction for many years and believe it in. Having listened the the works of Louise Hay, Rhonda Burne and others. I truly believe you bring positive and negative things to your life driven by your thoughts and hearing different "teachers" takes on this is helpful to find what works for you.

What did you like best about this story?

The basic explanation of the Law of Attraction without all the "over production" of The Secret. Oh, I love The Secret but it can be so flashy at times you need to peel that back.

What three words best describe Esther Hicks and Jerry Hicks ’s voice?

THIS is my only "issue" with Esther and Jerry. What they have to say is powerful, it's how they say it. The Secret was VERY polished and designed for a mass audience and it worked to get people to understand the LOA that may not have. However, on the other hand, the Hicks take some getting used to. I can't speak for current recordings as I am not there yet but here Esther takes on a accent and starts "yelling" for lack of a better term when she is speaking for Abraham. Jerry sounds like a radio announcer who is interviewing a subject but it not connected to the material. I really feel if Esther spoke has herself and simply relayed to us what she felt Abraham had shared with her it would be easier to consume the information. Jerry relaxing a bit and having a conversation where he also shared his thoughts would be nice. I believe but the "presentation" of a intelligent woman suddenly changing her voice can be jarring until you adjust.

Very Special

I think it's great! I don't understand the negatives written about it. So what if the teachings are basic, the format is great and I think that hearing it from Abraham is extra special. And, so what if the teachings were recorded in the 80's, these teachings will not go out-of-date. This is not a book of parables or the Ten Commandments. Although perhaps "out-of-date", I think a lot of people would even be interested in having 70 year old recordings of Edgar Cayce in trance, or even 2000 year old recordings, if possible, of some special people of that time.

Extremely Powerful Knowledge

I find that along with the Seth Books by Jane Roberts this is the most valuable and inspiring information on the nature of reality ever. Where the Seth Books put the emphasis more on exploring and explaining every little detail of how the nature of personal reality is formed, this book concentrates on the practical appliance of this extremely powerful knowledge. I've had tremendously good results in many aspects of my life after applying the laws as descibed in the book. I really recommend this from my heart.

A step backward - not forward

I am a long-time listener and follower of the Abraham-Hicks materials. It is always wonderful and it works at multiple levels. I am not certain of the reason for this publication. It is more a compilation of many talks from over the years (back to the beginnings) and if you have heard these talks and have been 'practicing' the philosophy for years - this is unnecessary and a bit off-putting. I am happy to have as much of this material as possible - but I find that 'new' teachings are more powerful and a compilation of talks from as far back as the late 80's is really not stepping forward. Is this for beginners? Probably. If you are a long-time listener, head to the source and subscribe to the monthly or weekly program instead. This is a rehash and I question its appearance now.

I also have to comment on the different voices of Abraham - the continuity is troublesome. It is not a 'book' per se, but a topical compilation.

Works as stated

Within weeks of practicing these techniques my life has been changing in miraculous ways. Things that are way beyond coincidence have now occurred and they directly relate to the things I have been focused on. You don't have to believe if you don't want to, but I promise you as "out there" as this all sounds, I guarantee it works. My wife is absolutely awestruck as to the success we have seen in only a few short weeks of getting serious about these techniques!

Now I Understand So Much

This book makes things that have happen in my life so clear! These things work. Talk about powerfully changing your life! This is a must have book if you want many things explained in your life that have been right. You also can begin to see why things aren't going the way you planned. I definitely give it a thumbs up.

Excellent & Practical Application

I first heard about Esther Hicks & Abraham when viewing "THE SECRET" on DVD. I then went searching for any material on the Laws of Attraction. These recordings were absolutely awesome. It's split into three different recordings... all of which are on point. It is definitely something to listen to over and over again, as it's not a simple solution, but an instruction manual for attracting the right energy by intention and with the right emotions.

A Waste of a Credit

I could not go much beyond the fabricated, assumed voice of Esther Hicks as she was channeling Abraham. I thought this might be better than her YouTube videos where she frequently interrupts speakers and seems borderline enraged when a speaker challenges her. Esther deals in « hopium » - you want a million dollars (or more), your soulmate, good health, job satisfaction, it’s in the vortex, don’t you know? I am sorry that I wasted a credit on this audio book.

Life Changing

I've listened to this twice fully, other sections at different times, and will listen again next weekend. This book has changed my life. The message resonates at the deepest level.

I love Esther, Jerry and Abraham. This is a must listen. This one I will listen to over and over. I used the info in this book to manifest my beautiful front porch on my gorgeous new house!!

I like the law of attraction and do believe in it

The law of attraction harmonises with me, however after listening to 2 audiobooks by The Hicks that they are charlatans. Some of the information is useful, but telling anyone they can have anything by pure belief without action is ridiculous. It goes against the 12 Universal Laws of Nature (one of which is the Law of Action). They also talk of how the LOA has kept them in perfect health - that is of course until Jerry died of cancer and Esther/Abraham hasn't released anything since. That said, some of the LOA information has some credibility in my personal opinion. Just take it all as a pinch of salt.

What did you like most about The Law of Attraction?

This is a phenomenal book about understanding yourself in relation to what you have and what you wish to attain and how to get it.

What did you like best about this story?

This books give tools that are easy to understand and easy to implement. Even though I had never read The Law of Attraction before this week, I have implemented many of tools offered in this book for decades with patients, and the results my patients have attained are proof that what Abraham teaches works.

Any additional comments?

I gave four stars because I disagree about the comments made by Abraham about abuse and rape. As a Psychologist, I work with people that have had these negative experiences and it is not beneficial or correct to say they attracted this to themselves. This explanation by Abraham has the potential to re-traumatize someone and undo all of the good this book offers. Therefore, I hope that people that have experienced sexual abuse or sexual assault can ignore these explanations and instead just focus on the other 99.9% of rich information in the book and begin to apply it to their lives.

Law of Attraction

This book provides one of the clearest descriptions on the Law of Attraction that I have come across so far. Taught through the channeling of Abraham this book has gone a long way to assisting me in believing that the law of attraction can work for people. It provides reasons why many people are not successful in using this law and as a consequence raises the level of understanding that the reader will have. I highly recommend it.

a bit creepy and insincere

I listened to the first 30mins of this thinking it would be motivating and insightful but it was two insincere people laughing, sounding like bad actors mocking the audience. And the whole spelling out numbers with her nose in a trance and typing without having control over her hands sounded a bit dark and supernatural, find a better audiobook, like The Secret! Don’t waste your time!

The Law of Attraction

This book is a sure way to great wealth if only the principles therein are strictly adhere to.

Don’t focus on the delivery,focus on the message

Focus on the message rather than the deliverance. If it doesn’t resonate with you, then it’s not the message meant to spark you into action. If it resonates, then you’ve simply opened up your own mind to fulfil your own potential...and that’s it!

Utter rubbish

Well how very disappointing this turned out to be. It’s the only audible audio book I’ve written a poor review about. Regurgitated material from other (credible) authors repeated from a “ supernatural “ perspective. Are listeners really meant to believe that the voice of Abraham/s have a Nordic accent? The description of a fire tender just had me in stitches. I’m sorry but this book is utter rubbish.

Horse S%$T. If you want something that makes any sense listen to ekhart tolle. He made a lot more sense than this crud. This is Buddhism for morons. Please dont waste your money. Look at proper buddhism, they dont have a moron supposedly being channelled by a spirit called Abraham. Christ. If I could give zero stars I would. If you want a taste of what this is look up the film "the secret" as that is based on this

Worst ever

Struggled to finish. The book is set up as an interview with a self- pretensious hippie that screems at her audience now and then.
