Publisher's Summary

Discover the eternal value of your finite time - and intentionally choose the meaningful over the urgent every single day.

Our culture makes it so that even the most organized and efficient among us feels the pressure of the ticking clock and the possibility and regret of missing out. Modern life has evolved in a way that sets us up for stress, pressure, and overload. New norms and attitudes tap into deeply wired psychological impulses that make it harder than ever to take control of your time. Many of us also have innate personality traits that make the struggle even worse.

No wonder time can become a tyrant that leaves us chronically stressed and discontented. Unlock an approach to life that best-selling author Valorie Burton calls “living timelessly”. You will come to understand:

  1. The gradual changes that have led us to a place where having too much to do and too little time to do it is the norm
  2. The vision for what it could look like if you were free from the stress of time and how to blast through the obstacles to those possibilities
  3. The practical steps to choosing the meaningful over the urgent so that your life is unhurried yet purposeful and reflects the values and impact that are unique to you.

It’s About Time helps you reimagine a life that is meaningful, at a pace that is natural, with a load that is doable and equips you with the tools to make it happen.

Overwhelmed with FOMO and feeling stuck? Read this

2020 started and I pulled the plug on all that I was doing online. I was neglecting myself, my family and none of it meant more to me then my loved ones. I needed balance and needed to do what was significant to me regardless of what expert were saying on social media. This book gave me back my sanity. It forced me to re-evaluate my life and start doing what was significant to me. I recommend it to anyone who feel like they have lost themselves in the fakeness of the online space and want to reclaim their sanity and genuineness.

Valorie Burton’s books have changed my life!

I came across Valorie Burton in 2012 when I read Successful Women Think Differently. It was as if she completely understood my struggles with self doubt and could speak to where I was in order to empower me to improve my life. I even used her material to speak to college women at a club meeting. I shared so many of her key points that my niece shared the information with her sorority and they invited her to their university to speak! In this newest book, It’s About Time, Burton has managed to effectively capture where I am in my life. I have developed a bit of angst over the many things to which I must attend and how to determine which of those things are the priority in a given moment. She has enabled me to weigh out what matters and how to make choices that align with my specific values. This is a great book and wonderful resource for those who feel the pressure of competing demands. If you want to gain greater control over your time and not feel stressed and driven by your commitments, then you will appreciate this book!
