Publisher's Summary

Newly installed superintendent of the Virginia State Police, Judy Hammer, and her right hand and confidant, Andy Brazil, are at their wits' end trying to protect the public from the politicians - and vice versa.

And amid the mayhem, an island off the coast of Virginia declares UDI, claiming its independence lies in the history of America's first settlers - those who set sail from London's Isle of Dogs in 1607.

Patricia goes to the dogs.

ok. this was the worst Patricia Cornwell ever! The story was stupid and it sounded like something written by a junior high student. HARD TO FINISH. I love Patricia Cornwell usually. And I usually enjoy her medical, forensic and computer info, as well as her characters Marino, Lucy and Kay. Hopefully they will return.

Silly, trite and not Cornwell's best

If you want a silly story with mediocre narration, this is it. Story line rambles and Karen White's character accents are poor at best.

Humorous in parts, tedious in others

Enjoyed the book overall. parts were pretty funny, but it dragged in places. I would recommend it to select friends.

confusing

it was like the other Brazil ones. too many characters that didn't really get built enough. The ending was super quick and you are not told what happens after.

ok

The story was ok, drawn out more than usual. The Narrator ruined the story for me.

Funny and entertaining, unexpected

Having read several of Cromwell's books, this was a surprise. Actually a pleasant surprise. Try it

Not as good as the second book on the series

Got rid of Virginia West with no explanation. Trooper truth essays would have had the same affect if they were cut in half. Story was too predictable and a little too goofy for my liking.
