Publisher's summary

A Golden Age science fiction masterpiece from Hugo Award nominee Rog Phillips.

Involuntary Immortals is the story of a woman who finds herself outliving her lovers and the incredible peril she faces when she sets out to discover the source of her involuntary immortality. Helen Ranston discovers her own daughter Agnes thinks she is a witch or vampire. Agnes is 40, but still looks 20 and has never aged throughout her daughter's entire life. Even Agnes doesn't suspect the truth - that Helen is over 100 years old - and has no idea why she is apparently immortal. With her daughter vowing vengeance, Helen knows she will have to start her life over under a new identity, as she has so often before.

Then, she meets the young man with the figure-eight pin on his collar. Looking at him, Helen discovers his eyes are those of a much older man. When Eric Trent says, "You never thought there would be others," he catapults Helen into the midst of a lethal three-corner cat-and-mouse game, the pawn of ruthless schemers who know how to kill immortals and are willing to kill every one of them in order to control the priceless secret of selling eternal life!

Can Helen keep her immortality, or will she lose it - and her life along with it?

Immortal Secrets

Involuntary Immortals definitely puts a unique spin on what being immortal. The storyline has twustxand turns that will come out of the blue as a group of people set out to find out how and why they are immortal. The book is unique, intriguing, and mysterious. The narration was amazing. I received this book for free upon my request. I am voluntarily leaving my honest, unbiased review of my own free will.

I Loved It!

It was a real twist and turning story I was completely into the narrator voice. This was a great and different version on immortals and the reason they live forever.

Different

This was a different storyline about some people having immortality with no explanation.
The story follows Helen who buries another husband and has nothing but hatred from her daughter because she aged and her mother has not. She leaves to start over somewhere and fate leads her to meet others like her. Helen and her friends seek to find the truth of why they have immortality. They must be on the run constantly.
Narrator Kendra Murray brought the story to life.
