Excellent and timeless work bringing Catholics back to God
This is my third time through the exercises and I find it impacts me differently and powerfully through each evolution. For me, this work brings me back to the core Faith, unadulterated, unapologetic and loaded with inspiration and insight. Highly recommend.

I loved the book..... but the mispronounciation of the name of St Augustine over and over and OVER AGAIN......
set my teeth on edge,
I could tell the narrator's a protestant "Agus TEEN" is not his name.

Incomparable Content - - Excellent Narration
What did you love best about Introduction to the Devout Life?
17th century spiritual direction that is completely relevant in today's life and times. Written for those living in the world it can easily be applied not only to one's spiritual growth but to all of our interactions and challenges in the secular world. The narration captures the voice I would imagine for St Francis de Sales and his qualities as a spiritual director. ...intelligent practical, truthful, direct, patient, loving and calming.

Narration is way too fast
I was really excited to find an Audible version of Introduction to the Devout Life, which is a wonderful book. While the narrator has a great voice and speaks clearly, he reads entirely too fast for me to be able to follow along comfortably.
I've been a member of Audible for 9 years and have a couple hundred books... this is one of only a handful of reviews I've ever done. I will probably end up returning this title and hope that eventually another version is released with different narration.

Good Introduction
I got this ARC via audiobook boom. This is my voluntary review. This book gave lots of insight into what St. Francis believed. The many aspects that are shown to help one understand what it really means to live a devout life, not a religious life were very good. The narrator was slow at times then would speed up. But other than that I enjoyed listening to the things given. I also learned ways to change some of the ways that I live my life.
