Deep, RichSpirit Filled

A great book on the foundations of prayer and growth in the spiritual life. He puts together the wisdom of the great masters of Christian prayer, with practical guidance on how to pray. He is a solid Catholic theologian.

Great guide for beginning and knowing the basics of the Christian life

The book is very well-organized and covers the classic pillars (and roadblocks) of the path of a Christian life, in a way I think is applicable to Christians of any tradition and experience. It Pitre particularly excels in grounding all the teachings in scripture and showing the analogical comparison and reclection between what is found in the Old Testament and the New (focusing on thr Gospels). Solid catechesis and covers a good amount of ground, while not delving especially deeply into any one aspect, by design.

Read Before undertaking any Spiritual Devotion

I began this book at the midpoint of my 33 day Consecration To Mary. The biblical, scriptural and inputs from Father's of the faith, ancient, medieval and modern was truly a blessing. So well presented and documented.

Interesting and well read

Interesting, well researched and well read, like all of the other books by Brant Pitre.

Monotonous narrating

While the leasons are insightful, the narration was very as-a-matter-of-fact, almost robotic. This made it a challenge for me to continue chapter by chapter, when I much rather listen to something else. It's talen me 8 months to complete this audio book.

Great Book for Spiritual Growth

This is a great book of truth, and if put into practice, serious fruit will be abundant.
