Life Changing

J Philippe has a unique combination of wisdom and humility lacking in most people who aren't doctors of the Church. I want ALL of his books! And the narrator's performance is exceptional! I will definitely look for other books with Mr Coppock's narration.

Practical and profound guide to this indispensable attribute

There are many good spiritual books for the Christian to read, but this small volume richly annotated with a pertinent Scripture citations is giving me a map and compass to keeping inner peace. I desperately want to remain at peace in this chaotic world, but I lacked clarity as to why. Now I have it.

Just what I needed to hear!

Always love the wisdom of Fr. Jacques! I’ve read several of his books and find myself returning to them again and again. This one will be no exception!!

Excellent material, poor reading

The spiritual insights in this book are wonderful. Unfortunately, the narration is incredibly distracting - too much of a dramatic sermon and not enough of just reading.

Life changing! Much needed content

Much needed content in these times when depression and thinking overly of one’s concerns are the norm.

Narrator really takes away from thjs great book

Have read this book many years ago and was excited to have in on audible. However, the narrator is dramatic and distracting to listen to. He really doesn’t do the book justice. Regret this purchase, but the actual book is wonderful!

I especially like his use of St Padre Pio & Dom Lorenzo Scipoli. This book is very beneficial to my spiritual life & to the assistance I give to others.

Beautiful content, overly dramatic reading

I read this book (print version) several years ago and loved it. My Lay Dominican chapter chose this for discussion, but I couldn't find my paperback. I was happy to see it among Audible's selections. However, the narrator was often far too emotional and dramatic. It was distracting at times. Fortunately, the spiritual content is so good that I listened to the end.

If possible, I advise reading on Kindle or in print.

This is a simple easy way to combat the anxiety that each person experiences. I will listen to it over and over!

Great book, terrible title, okay audio

I'm so grateful this book is in audio form now (even though the audio isn't that good)! It's been a favorite book for nearly two decades––top 5 spiritual books probably!

The title sounds like a self-help book, and so I avoided it for several years, but it really does what it sets out to do: help you find peace. I've come back to it again and again. It's thoroughly and authentically Catholic. I've met Fr. Philippe on few occasions, and found him to be a very authentic and holy priest.

This audio version is not very high quality, but it suffices. I thought the narrator's voice would bother me, but when I put it on 1.3 speed, it is quite manageable, and actually his inflection is very accurate.
