“Read the Orphan X series. You’ll thank me later." ―David Baldacci

Gregg Hurwitz's New York Times bestselling Orphan X returns - just when Evan Smoak thinks he's done, his deadliest job yet pulls him back Into The Fire...

Evan Smoak lives by his own code.

Once he was known as Orphan X. Trained as an off-the-books government assassin and spoken about only in whispers, Evan Smoak was one of the most talented - and most feared - men in the Program. But he broke free and reinvented himself as The Nowhere Man, a figure shrouded in mystery, known for helping the truly desperate.

If anyone is truly desperate, it’s Max Merriweather.

Max is at the end of his rope. His cousin has been brutally murdered, leaving Max an envelope that contains nothing but a mysterious key. However, someone really wants that key, badly enough that Max - and anyone he turns to - is in deadly danger. What seems like a simple job for The Nowhere Man turns out to be anything but. Behind every threat he takes out, a deadlier one emerges and Evan Smoak must put himself in greater danger than ever before as he heads once more Into The Fire.

My favorite one of the series!

Don’t bother reading the reviews. Just buy it and jump in. You won’t regret it. The story grips you and doesn’t let go, even at the very end. In fact, you won’t want to be let go of. So sad I reached the of the story...I’ll just have to start again at chapter one.

My favorite Orphan X Book to date

I like the Orphan X series and this one was especially enjoyable because of the cast of supporting characters, especially his 16-year-niece Joey.

WOW !

More twists than ever.
Great story telling.
The kind of story telling that happened before television and radio. Greg Hurwitz shows off his craftsmanship.

Great but not awesome!

It was a great book but this one was my least favorite Orphan X book. But still WAY worth it. For those who don’t like foul language this one has more than the rest.

Enjoyed it.

As always, I enjoyed this Orphan X novel. Story was more chaotic than previous X novels, but it ties into the overall plot.

Love the Evan Smoak series

The stories are always so captivating to me. In this book we really see Evan Smoak struggle with where he wants to be and where he actually is, longing for more in life.

I really hope there's a book 6, can't find anything solid online that says so but if I ever see one available I'll be getting it right away.
