Includes a bonus audio short story, “The Awakening,” a prelude.

Over the past two decades, Nick Horrigan has built a quiet, safe life for himself, living as much under the radar as possible. But all of that shatters when, in the middle of the night, a SWAT team bursts into his apartment, grabs him and drags him to a waiting helicopter. A terrorist - someone Nick has never heard of - has seized control of a nuclear reactor, threatening to blow it up. And the only person he’ll talk to is Nick, promising to tell Nick the truth behind the events that shattered his life twenty years ago.

At seventeen years old, Nick Horrigan made a deadly mistake - one that cost his stepfather his life, endangered his mother, and sent him into hiding for years. Now, what Nick discovers in that nuclear plant leaves him with only two choices - to start running again, or to fight and finally uncover the secrets that have held him hostage all these years.

As Nick peels back layer after layer of lies and deception, buffeted between the buried horrors of the past and the deadly intrigues of the present, he finds his own life - and the lives of nearly everyone he loves - at risk. And the only thing guiding him through this deadly labyrinth are his stepfather’s dying words: TRUST NO ONE.

Acclaimed for years by both critics and his peers as one of the finest thriller writers today, Gregg Hurwitz has lived up to all the accolades and expectations with Trust No One, an electrifying and compelling novel that will be remembered for years to come.

I love the Orphan X series so I just assumed this book would draw me in like Hurwitz’s other novels. But I found my mind wandering on more than one occasion. It just didn’t hold my attention. A little disappointed.

Scott Brick narration makes a good book even better . Not as good as Orphan X

Good listen

Gregg Hurwitz is just terrific. I have yet to read a book by him that I did not like. This was no exception. Fast moving story but one that you will not easily figure out. There is no logical connection between Nick Horrigan, a SWAT team, a nuclear reactor, and the death of his stepfather. Except, it all connects beautifully. Gregg Hurwitz has written a well thought out story that keeps you guessing until the end. The narrator, Scott Brick, is divine. He makes every character unique and believable.

Well thought out story

At every turn there is an assumption of guilt. The author does an amazing job of forcing you to put a microscope on every player. A fun thriller to the end

Bravo

Starts a bit slow but stick with it. Full of surprises and some. Scott Brick is my favorite.

Perseverance

Scott Brock is awesome!! Like this book. The plot and the never ending twists and turns.

Didn’t want to finish

I got hooked by Greg Hurwitz after reading the Orphan X books and tried several of his earlier works as well. Some were great and this was the first mediocre tale by him. The suspense was less than his other books and I found myself drifting off and this had not happened before by any of his books. The concept was interesting but I prefer his newer books

not the best but still entertaining

I Honestly thought the story was awesome. The narrator is one of the best ever.

This was a great thriller!

This requires too much suspension of disbelief and it isn't helped by a reader who I find a poor match to a young protagonist, and even worse for the female characters.

The story? The protagonist spends far too much of his time being clueless and pathetic. There's also too much requirement for clairvoyance and ineptitude on the part of the bad guy. There's also too much reliance on people deciding to partially disclose their perspective, instead of explaining properly. One minor example, nobody on an airline desk is going to ignore restrictions based on calling a number a kid gives them. No sensible adult dials a random number provided by a third party and then believes the story their accomplice gives them on the phone. It's just garbage. I got to the point where I just had to start skipping 30 seconds of garbage dialog at a time.

The reader does nothing to save a poor story

l had this on my wish list. Love you Hurwitz! And Brick helps you rock! But athletes and actors are doing this stuff enough. We know right from wrong. Can't we just enjoy your writing?

Unique, interesting, but socially preachy
