I love Olivia's books and I can't wait to read the next installment in this series. That being said it was almost predictable in the story line but the characters were interesting and certainly not boring.
Strong characters and the story following on from the Sinners made it a great time waster!

Can't Believe I'm Saying This

This is the first time that I am a little disappointed in Olivia Cunning Books. It was slow to get going and I did not feel the chemistry between them. I did not buy the 25 year old naive virgin. I get that she could be a virgin but common we are not in the middle ages. She would have some clue about sex. The book got better near the end but I am so accustomed to being captivated from the start that I just did not feel it this time. However, that will not take her off my top favorite list.

inconsistencies abound

Liked Logan, often didn’t like Toni.
I was really annoyed with Toni when she met with Susan, then with Exodus End. I couldn’t comprehend her immediately having sex with Logan. She really was TSTL.
How Toni was written through the whole beginning didn’t mesh with the smart quips that she started coming up with, where she finally became a likable character.
There were a few other disconnects for me: how Logan’s absent mom chose to be a judgmental w*tch in her comments to Toni. But he didn’t call her out on it. That was not an ‘oops I did something dumb’. It was an ‘I deliberately chose to be evil’ moment.
Additionally, in a house with just a few women in it, if a strange muscle car pulled up in the middle of the night and shut off its engine, it’s time to have the speed dial ready for police emergency.
Arden’s narration was very good.
Cartwright’s masculine voices need serious work.

Would you listen to Insider again? Why?

Yes. I loved the storyline and the narration. I've listened to all of the Sinners books several times and I can see this one going the same way.

What does Joe Arden and Mackenzie Cartwright bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love Mackenzie's interpretation of Toni's little sister's voice. It's perfect and so cute. Makes her seem so real you just want to hug her!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I didn't have an extreme reaction, but my heart dropped when Toni is blamed for the scandalous article about the band. Yes, I saw it coming a mile away, but there was a twist at the end. I may have seen that coming, too, but I still loved the book.

Any additional comments?

If you're looking for dark and edgy, this isn't it. If you're looking for interesting characters, steamy sex and an easily followed plot, you've found it! Can't wait for the next book in the series!

These Stories Rock!

If you are a fan of her other rock series, you will love this. You get to revisit all your favorite characters from previous books and you get to fall in love with Logan. Loved everything about this one. Hot sex, lots of humor, nicely written. Only wished for more at the end. Didn't really get enough of them in the future. What happens for them?
