New York Times bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken proves that everyone scores to win. But off the field, a fumble can change the entire game.

Pro footballer Miller Quinton would do anything for his best friend and teammate - including "fake dating" his friend's sister. What no one knows is that seven months ago in Vegas, Miller and Kinsey did a whole lot more than just kiss. Miller knows that this cheerleader is off-limits to him and any guy on the team. Still, he can't stop himself.

Kinsey's whole world is on the verge of crumbling. Her dad has cancer. Her overprotective brother is falling apart. Dating Miller may be a fake-out, but he's the one guy who can make her forget about everything - including all the reasons she stayed away from football players. With each heated moment, Miller feels more like a safe place...even though he's not safe at all.

Now temptation is testing every rule in the game of love. But how long can they go on playing when winning is a harder goal than either of them imagined?

This book keep my attention captive; I couldn’t put the book down. The story touched so many topics, it was full and handled difficult topics very well.

Beautiful

This is a two for one! I can’t get enough when an author throws in an extra side love story.
Miller is having a bit of a hard time figuring out what his love life is going to look like now. Kinsey kind of inserts herself as his honorary best friend and things become heated. ;)

Kinsey’s brother is very protective and is also Miller's teammate and best friend of sorts. So even if he wanted to go there Jax wouldn’t even consider it only things take a turn when Jax is the one to suggest to Miller the most outrageous thing of all…. To pretend to be Kinsey’s boyfriend…. Oh dear right, you would think this book was going to be filled with dramalama but nope you would be wrong it was just the right amount of angst and drama. I loved it.

I wasn’t expecting to get emotional in this book at all and yet I found myself in tears. It sneaks up on you in a way that is organic and I won’t soon forget this book that is for sure.

I am not going to spoil the side story for ya, just let you figure that one out. ;)

The narration again I am in love with these narrators, they brought all the emotions and inflection into their characters I couldn’t, wouldn’t stop listening.

Rachel Van Dyken is so freakin’ amazing! I love all her book and how they can pull out all the emotions. Her characters are relatable and you just get drawn into the story. This book was no exception. As the second in the series, it focused on Miller moving on from Emerson and his relationship with Kenzie and her brother Jax. Of course there was plenty of Jax and Harley thrown in too (Yay, Sebastian York!!!), as well as the always sarcastic and hilarious Sanchez.
There was emotional upheaval, fights, love, laughter and heartbreak. (Yep, I cried listening to this book too.)
This trio of narrators kicked a**! Jeremey and Carly were fantastic on their own, but then you put Sebastian and his sexy deep voice in the mix, and how can you not just love it?!?! All three of them just did a wonderful job. I’ll definitely be listening to this one again and again!

Simply Perfect!

Miller and Kinsey’s tumultuous coming of age storyline features an NFL defensive end who is afraid of forming attachments and a professional cheerleader with an outrageously overprotective brother named Jax who just happens to be Miller’s QB. A drunken hookup in Vegas followed by a brush off on Miller’s part sets the stage for a whole lot of angst and pheromone overload when Kinsey’s abusive former boyfriend returns to the team and sets Jax’s protective instincts on high alert. It’s a classic case of obfuscation where Miller and Kinsey fall for each other while pretending they’re dating to discourage her ex while they hide their affair from Jax. I had great empathy for Miller, Kinsey, Jax, Santiago and Emerson, as they face the trials and tribulations of another football season while Jax and Kinsey’s father battles terminal cancer. I really liked the deep dive into each character’s psyche that is possible because this book is basically part two of an extended storyline that is loaded with surprising revelations and shocking secrets that affect them all. The reasons behind Jax’s obsessive overprotection of Kinsey are revealed along with the ramifications of Kinsey’s long term abuse at the hands of her twisted ex. Jax finds an unexpected source of compassion while Miller fights his own demons and my heart ached as they struggle to work through their issues. It’s an endearing romance and emotionally gripping examination of young adulthood that kept me engrossed from start to finish and the wonderful vocal narration performances by Jeremy York, Carly Robbins, and Sebastian York are equally compelling.

Compelling storytelling and narration performances.!!
