Publisher's summary

All Beau Montgomery, one of Charleston's most eligible bachelors, wants to do is build boats. He has no interest in marriage whatsoever...until it means he might not get his inheritance and he can kiss his boat-building dreams good-bye. But the hungry hordes of Charleston debutantes looking to score a Montgomery scare him shitless.

Gwen has loved Beau Montgomery since she used to run barefoot around the marina as a scrappy preteen tomboy. Knowing she'll never fit into his high-society family, she decided long ago she'd become his indispensable best friend rather than not be in his life at all. When he tells her he needs to marry in order to fulfill his dreams, she panics that he might actually meet someone, and she'll lose him forever.

I want more

I did love the story, I was so excited to read Beaus story since meeting him in Trystans story. Gwen is a wonderful daughter, a great best friend but terrible at taking care of her own needs. Beau is a loyal wonderful friend and grandson that is blind to what is right in front of him. The reason I gave it 4 stars for the story part is because it took FOREVER to get to the good stuff and I feel a little cheated that we only get to enjoy them being together romantically for a very short time. Im hoping that there will be more stories from this group of characters in Charleston and we will get to visit with all the other characters we have come to love. The narrators were great!!!

I liked this book. Recommended.

After listening to this book, which I enjoyed bothe the story and the narration, I'm really happy that I egnored all the negative reviews and read it.
It is a sweet love story and easy reading. The pace is very good. The narration, of both male and female, fits perfectly - good casting.
Recommended.

Fantastic story

Loved the build up - just the right pace. It was a book I genuinely could not put down till the end. Narrators were okay too. 5 stars and definitely worth a credit

My favorite sweet yet spicy romance story

This is my catnip. Sweet, funny, and I could not stop listening. I will definitely check out the author's other recordings. I think the characters were well-developed and believable, the performance was solid, and the plot kept me up at night so I finished this in about 24 hours! Highly recommend if you want a heartwarming boy and girl next door type of romance.

inconvenient wills... geez ... 🔥👏🏾

(Beau & Gracie): "I can see what's happening… and they don't have a clue… they'll fall in love and here's the bottom line… our trio's down to two…". This book… OMG… let be just say, you had me at the Disney movie quotes. So this is a follow up of "Accidental Tryst", where we now follow Tristan's cousin Beau, whom we learned has to get married in order to get his part of his grandfather's inheritance. I love that before Tristan and his mom were sent away, he spent most of his time as a kid with his cousin and another kid. That kid's name is Gracie and she is Beaus' current best friend. The book rewinds back just a touch to the reading if the will then, present time when a very freaked out Beau asks Gracie to marry him in a very backhanded compliment sort of way. Here, we realize how hurtful it sounds and then we start to understand her answer. These two don't realize what's happening to their friendship and it's almost heartbreaking. Either way, they're gonna lose. This book was a hard one to swallow, as they were completely stubborn and also didn't talk and for them being next friends it didn't make sense but as a reader it did because their relationship is changing so they have to re-learn how to communicate if they make it through this clause. I felt like I was watching a ping pong contest with my heart and head turning back and forth at a fast pace. Luckily, with the stipulations that Tristan had in the will, he was able to be there to help asking the way. Really good book. A little more depressing than the previous book but good.

Loved it

Bo's attempts at doing a foreign accent were terrible, but absolutely loved the story line.

Cute Listen

It was nice getting Beau & Gwen's story, but it was a bit predictable. If you're looking for a nice, lighthearted book, this is a good one to go with.

Fun flirty passionate

What a great story! And probably true for many to mix love and friendship. It’s a fine line. The dog aspect was terrific. A true character in the novel. Really enjoyed the twists and turns. Great outcome. Perfect book to get away into a happy place.
