Publisher's summary

From international best-selling erotic romance author Sierra Cartwright. Audiobook four in the Mastered series.

Things couldn't get worse. It was bad enough Maggie had to spend the days with her boss and nemesis. Now to find out he's a dom at her favorite place to play?

Maggie Carpenter needs an escape from her everyday life and her overbearing boss. David Tomlinson has ruined her life and career by acquiring her family's business and tying her to an untenable employment contract. So she and her friend head for an evening at the Den to explore their wildest fantasies...only to find David there looking ridiculously sexy with a bare chest and a set of handcuffs attached to his belt loop.

David is just as shocked to find his spitfire employee at the Den. He leans against the wall, watching, unable to wrap his mind around the idea that the woman who constantly challenges him might be a sub. But when another dom approaches her and she casts her gaze down, he sees another side of her.

His reaction to the submissive Maggie is immediate and sizzling hot, and so is the unwelcome jealousy he experiences. He's always had a strict no-fraternization rule, but he's determined to have her in his cuffs before the evening is out, despite the dozens of reasons he shouldn't. He wants Maggie surrendered to him, in his cuffs, literally as well as figuratively.

Good book- good audio

I like this book. I like true BDSM books and this is a story that starts out as pure lust and morphs into love.

Worst of the series, by a huge marging

So..... I started off liking this story but by about halfway through was listening at double speed, by the end I was skipping entire sections. Maggie starts off as a competent, independent career woman who likes some kink on the side. By the end she is dependent, mewling submissive who depends on her Dom to function. The Dom turns out to be an omniscient, uncompromising sadist who acknowledges that he's made mistakes in the past but isn't willing to change his behaviour to correct those mistakes. His sub, Maggie, has to do all the compromising and as long as she is rewarded with orgasms after enduring his torture all is good. When Maggie, in a last show of independence, challenges his ways, he responds dismissively saying that in effect he is 'always right' and that if she really has a problem with something it is on her to do something about it. This, despite the fact that he never showed any willingness to consider any of her concerns.

I was quite disappointed really, I've enjoyed most of Sierra's books in the past but in this one the martinet wins everything and the heroine wins nothing...except bruises and orgasms.

A bit too much

I liked the rest of these books, but this one bordered on abuse. I couldn’t even get past half of it. Kept telling myself is a lifestyle the female character enjoyed, but it was way too abusive.
