Publisher's summary

I am always fully in control of my company, my family, and my life. Even my diet is perfectly regulated - that includes no candy.

Except when my new assistant sprays chocolate sauce all over me and passes out drunk in my car, it marks the point where my control over everything starts to unravel.

Josie

My new billionaire boss looks like he needs something sweet in his life. I graciously offered to let him stick his hand in my candy jar. It has salt water taffy and gummy worms! I can't believe he thought it was inappropriate!

In an effort to redeem myself, I set out to show Mace that I wasn't a clumsy, car-destroying, electronic-killing, accident-prone, walking disaster. That lasted all of five minutes before I set his seaweed and quinoa lunch on fire. Yeah, I didn't know that was a thing either.

I can tell I'm a bad influence. I see him lick his lips when we're alone. I just have to convince him to take one little bite.... Because once he has a taste, he's going to want to stick his whole face in my candy jar!

Sweet (and spicy!!!) read! 🍭

Be prepared for a chocolate fountain’s worth of sweet and sexy puns. This book is choc(olate) full of them!

Looking forward to diving into the next Svensson brothers book! 🤗

Alina Jacobs is a wonderful author!

I listened to this series completely out of order. This is the first in the series but I listened to In Her Pumpkin Patch and On His Paintbrush before this. The stories still translated wonderfully and they are all lovely stories.

I will say all of the books have the same plot it seems. I would like to see a little variety in that area, but all in all they are all lovely stories.

Josie and Mace are the OG couple of the series and they set the bar high. If you read/listen to these books in order they truly do get better with each couple.

Subpar

I’ve read the pumpkin patch and Meg’s story and really liked both of them. This one lacked a story and instead just added constant sex. Going to try next in series I want to see how Megan and Hunter end up.

Some interesting candy

I'm not quite sure what to say about this story except that it was very unexpected. I eyeball read a few of Alina's books a long time ago so didn't really remember what I was getting into with the audiobooks. The writing is a little awkward and unrealistic in parts but overall it's pretty damn dirty! Once they get down to it they don't stop, and I take no issue with that 😉 The amount of bad luck the main characters deal with is a little ridiculous. I would classify this as a cute if a little strange yet sexy romcom.

The narration was a little difficult for me. The male narrator was fine for the main and side male characters, but his tone and wine for the main female character was a little hard to get past. The female narrator has a beautiful smokey voice so the two versions of her didn't really jive. They each did a good job on their own characters though. 2.5/5 story and 3/5 narration.

Even though it wasn't an amazing experience for me it was still a fun story. I will still be trying others in the series. I enjoyed my introduction to the Svensson Brothers and am quite curious to see how the others fine their HEAs.

Opposites really do attract!

I liked this story a lot. It was entertaining and enjoyable even with the dumb things some of the characters did. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Anka, Tara, and Paisley definitely deserved each other. They were the worst. Marnie and Willow were both wonderful friends and sounding boards for Josie. Ida was a hoot and a half, she added some cringeworthy moments as well as some laughs. A good portion of the drama and angst in the story was because of Josie. There were so many times that I yelled at her to communicate with Mace, or listen to her friends, or just to be a responsible adult, but of course, she didn’t listen. Mace got yelled at too, but not much. I loved how his brothers called him a drama queen. It definitely seemed like the relationship between the brothers was dead on. I adored the banter and the innuendos that added to my laughter and enjoyment of the story. Josie was way better with Mace’s little brothers than I thought she would be. Mace and Josie were such opposites that you wouldn’t think they would work, but somehow they do. I loved their happy ever after and I recommend reading this book.

If you have the opportunity to listen to the book, TAKE IT! The narrators do an amazing job of bringing the characters to life. I laughed so much I had to explain why to my daughter numerous times. I definitely recommend listening to this book as well.

Not great

Story not too bad but the narrators did not do it for me at all. Struggled to finish. Much of the humor and intimate scenes are lost due to the narration

too much sex

good storyline IF they could ever stay dressed. just nasty. an explicit warning label would have been nice before I was embarrassed in front of a coworker when a raunchy scene started outta the blue. didnt take long for every chapter to have one or more such scenes.

Annoyingly simple and stereotypical

Full disclosure - I only made it about 1/2 way through. When I looked to see how much time was left and I saw 4 hours I called it quits and got a refund.

The story is predictable and the characters had no depth, The main female characters biggest personality traits are she likes candy (the tie in to the title) and she is clumsy. The narration was not the best either. Alexander Cendese has a great voice when he portraying a male character but his female characters are annoying to listen to. Samantha Summers has weird pauses in the middle of sentences which sounded pretty disjointed.

Such a waste of money

I lasted all of 5 minutes and had to stop it! The worst book!!!!The narration was very juvenile and the story was ridiculous.
