Romantic comedy, large family, billionaire, work rivals and perfect spice!

This is a prequel to a series, and therefore you should not expect a HEA. And it is stated on the cover that it is book 0 in the series. You will be able to read the series without this book, but I think that this gives you so much more connection when you do read the story.

This series is a spinoff of another series, but no need to have read that one either. Though if you have, then you have met and heard of these characters before. But one again, if you pick up this book or the series you will not feel as if you have missed anything. I picked up one of this author's books just cause, and in the last 2 weeks I have read 10 books and have no plan on stopping til I have read them all. Just amazing.

*I listened to the audiobook of this, and loved it! I think that hearing the voices gives you so much more as a reader. You really can feel the emotions. These narrators were top-notch.

Belle and Greg's beginning

Great characters, fast paced, funny and spicy.
The two narrators really captured the characters. I found myself rewinding to repeat my favorite parts and dialogue. So well done.
The repartee between the characters draws you in and keeps you hooked.
The Hate Date Greg takes Belle on is fabulous. They are both pleasantly surprised by how much they have in common.
And I totally agree with Belle regarding the Disney princesses dress colors, Sleeping Beauty's dress is blue! Pink appears only in the end credits as the two fairies battle over the color. Cinderella's dress is actually white, not blue!
Despite their obvious connection and intense feelings, they aren't together at the end of this story as much more awaits them. It's obvious they belong together. To be continued...
This is just the beginning, Greg has some issues to work through and Belle needs to build her confidence before they can get to their HEA.

The Hate Date

After reading the first Svensson Brothers series, I was looking forward to diving into the Manhattan Brothers books!

I liked getting a glimpse at new characters and the start of Greg and Belle's story. They don't get their HEA, but I am sure we will get the rest of their romance.

Alina writes fun, and hilarious stories and this is no exception. I really enjoy picking up her books when I need a story that will literally make me laugh out loud. I can't wait for more from this series!

So much fun

These families are a riot with all the interactions and problems they seem to create. They pull you in and make you laugh and cry but can’t wait to hear more.

Overall a fun read

I have enjoyed this series and the author. The books are funny and lighthearted as well as strong female characters. I was disappointed that the male narrator chose to use an elderly man voice as Greg. (I think he was trying for distinguished?). I had to work to not visualize an old man every time he spoke, which was not fitting at all to the plot. Other than that, fun and lighthearted.
