Publisher's Summary

Rising from a life of poverty, Hunter Green is a staunch businessman, a workaholic with three jobs to keep his life busy and fulfilled. As the owner of the Atlanta Weekly Chronicles, he heads the most successful weekly newspaper in the state of Georgia. As a single parent, he takes pride in his son, and devoted his time to being the best father he can be. And as the owner of Greene Pastures, he breeds champion horses that sell at top dollar.

When the story breaks that one of Atlanta’s most prominent and respected pastors has been killed in a fiery automobile accident, Hunter stands to lose everything when the deceased pastor’s distraught daughter, Jade Tides, convinces him that it wasn’t an accident, but murder. Hunter uses the power of the written word, his very own newspaper, to try to solve the mystery, but the entire community threatens to take away its support if he doesn’t discontinue the features. They accuse Hunter of using the pastor’s untimely death as a ploy for greater financial gain and accuse him of making a mockery of God and the memory of Reverend B. T. Tides.

In the midst of it all, Hunter falls hard for Jade Tides. She’s everything he desires in a woman. But is she and the so-called mystery surrounding her father’s death worth losing everything for, or has the legend of Shelton Heights caught up with yet another unsuspecting family?

A Slow Listen

This story line was okay but a better narrator would have made it a tad bit more interesting. The storyline was somewhat interesting but at the end, I can’t recall what happened. A good narrator makes the audiobook and keeps your interest. This narrator would pause at inappropriate times and long enough to make me wonder if a call was coming through or if something was wrong with my connections. Her equipment was subpar because she would make mistakes and they were not edited. The pauses through out the entire audio was rather distracting.

Great story line but...

Great story that I really enjoyed. My only recommendation is to have it re-recorded. The reader sometimes mixed up names, days etc that really just threw the entire story off.

I got bored early on

I lost interest by chapter 7. This narrator was dry and kept messing up, which added to the fact that I was already zoning out on the story. I wasn't interested in continuing.

Good story

The story was really good I enjoyed the twist at the end, it was well written. Butttttt the narration! To be honest she was legit with character changes but the mispronounced word, even saying the incorrect words and correcting it mid sentence was unprofessional. I don’t blame the narrator I blame whoever didn’t edit before putting it out.

What a book !!!

First I would like to point out that this was not what I expect it and a good way! The narrator was ok I felt as if she could have just re-recorded the parts where she messed up on. The book was really good and I recommend anyone that has a love for good story lines to give it a listen.

Great story if you can make it to the end....

This is a great story. The author crafted a wonderful story from start to finish, Because I have read her other works, I suffered through this audio version. Needless to say, the narration was horrible. When the narrator did not mispronounce words, she made audible pauses in the middle of sentences that made you thought that your device had stopped working. Also it sounded like she was too close to the mic and the inflection in her voice was all over the place so you had to constantly readjust the volume. The audio version should have been more thoroughly edited prior to release.

Editing

I stayed with the story until the end but... the recording was not edited. We heard the reader clear her throat, repeat lines, struggle to get phrases out. I'm not blaming the reader because I assume she thought editing would take place after the recording. It really took away from story.
