So good. Why isn’t this a movie already?

Maybe it was the performance. This was suspenseful. I wanted to close my eyes and barely peek to see what would happen. But I can’t do that here, can I? This could be a beautiful, complex, thought provoking movie. Come on, Netflix!

What a wonderful read

Black authors matter! My Soul to Keep - the story and narration - are just fantastic. I’m so glad I found Ms. Due on Horror Noire on Shudder.

I still love it!!!

I have the immortal book series by Due and have enjoyed reading them years ago. So now having the audio versions is like a new adventure all over again, listening to the story from someone else's lips. I love her and hope that she connects with Jordan Peele and bring this book to life in a movie!!! I think he would do an amazing job bringing this story to the big screen, a 5 or 6 part mini series would be amazing! I'm allowed to dream.... aren't I!😊

Never disappointed!

This author is one of my favorite! I’ve enjoyed all of her books. If you’ve never read her work before, this is a great series to start with.

It took a while to get used to a male performing all of the voices but the story is so good, that ceased to be important.

Good book

This was a good book but OMG it was long! At any rate, I definitely got to know the characters in depth and I would like to have learned a little more about what the deal was with Grandpa and the lady in the tree. I will probably read more by this author, when I have a lot of time on my hands.

Captivating!

From start to finish this story is engaging and strong. The characters are complicated and real. The story is familiar yet unknown. I highly recommend this story.

Wonderful story

I've read this novel before and was just as captivated this time as I was the first. I was still brought to tears as I felt Jessica's pain. The only drawback is that there's a chapter missing in the audio book at the end of the novel. I would give it 0.5 less stars but I truly do enjoy this author and her works.

This book is written on a whole different level. It took me a little while to really appreciate the craftsmanship. I'm not no paid reviewer. You just have to pay attention. David's life oh my God he had a lot going on. guess what folks I'm writing this and I'm only on chapter 20.. And you know what this a different type of vampire. And not really a vampire at the same time. Definitely different.

Fun read. Interesting and nuanced characters. Great reader. Interview at the the end is also wonderful
