What the hell just happened?

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Only if they've already started this series. In light of how the final book in the series ended, though, I won't recommend new readers.

Has Immortal turned you off from other books in this genre?

Nope!

Have you listened to any of Eric Dove’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Eric's performance was good as usual. I just had a problem with the story itself.

Any additional comments?

I don't know what happened. I seriously can't explain what happened in this series. One minute it was a cool little fallen angels series. Then the final book is released and it's... Not.
Maybe it's the post-coital feeling of the end of a series. Usually with the end of a series the expectations are high to have a satisfying ending and all your questions answered.

The best thing I can say about this were the little tidbits of information we learned about Lassiter.

For those that have not read Wards Black Dagger Brotherhood series, that is where you can meet Lassiter. Not until book 8 of that series, though. I can assure you EVERY scene Lassiter is in is almost guaranteed to make you either giggle, smile or laugh uncontrollably. He's so much fun.

7 SOULS & ALL THE ENDS ARE NICELY TIED UP HERE

Oh, Jim Jim Jim our loveable Hero and Saviour sadly we have to say a fond farewell to you and all the other well loved characters including Dog, the Archangels, Eddie and Adrian in this, the finale, to what has been an action-packed series... you will all be missed. We've witnessed 5 souls reaching their crossroads, 5 flags won and the battle of good vs. evil rages on with the fate of the world resting in one Immortal's hands.

J R Ward has delivered yet another very imaginative, addictive and brilliant story that has suspense, humor, snappy dialogue, romance, lots of plot twists, sex (milder than other books) forgiveness, miracles and plenty of drama. Davina, the wicked Queen Demon with her O.C.D. shoe fetish, was just so funny but she still doesn't change her evil plans and her all consuming desire for Jim. But this is mainly about Jim and Sissy and what they have to go through to finally get their HEA ending. But there's a hint that we haven't seen the last of Adrian and Eddie as their new mission could involve Lassiter from the epic BDB series.

Worth a credit? For all of you who, like me, have loved each and every book in this series then you know already what my answer is going to be..... a well deserved YES. A standing ovation not only goes to J R Ward but also to Eric G Dove's narration who skilfully created the atmosphere, the emotions and brought to life all the characters from mere words.

What an ENDING!

Oh the ending, this book was a lot of action and clearing anything up. I enjoyed Sissy way more in this book than I did in the previous book thank goodness!
Devina cracked me up whoever thought of a demon needing to go to therapy! That is just funny.

Jim had a big role to play and he was a little more present and doesn’t run off half-cocked.

Oh my heart, Eddie and Adrian & Nigel and Collin, that is all I will say about all that.

I enjoyed this series, its one I have wanted to finish for a long time. I can now say I finished it.

I liked Eric’s narration he did take a little getting used to for me now I can’t think of anyone else that should have narrated these. :)

A Great Series!

This series is filled with interesting characters and the right balance of suspense, action and romance.

I like that each book had two stories in one. The ongoing fight for the seven souls between good and evil to see which side could collect the most souls and the romance of these souls meeting and falling in love.

I was sad this series ended; however, I think there will be either a spinoff or will be picked up in JR Ward's other series "Black Dagger Brotherhood" because one of their characters being mention in the last book.

Eric did an awesome job of narrating the story and I will definitely look for the other books narrated by him.

I recommend this book and series for anyone looking for a differnt PNR but suggest starting with the first book.

Satisfying conclusion to a great series!

I was surprised to discover this was the final book in the Fallen Angels Series. What about 7 books for 7 souls – or at least that is what I had assumed. It makes me wonder if JR Ward got tired of writing this series and just decided to end it at book 6. The one was good but it did feel rushed compared to the previous books in the series. I would have preferred a little more “meat on the bone” to this story but I guess the author had another view. Fair enough, it’s her series.

Overall I mostly enjoyed this book and I am satisfied with the overall conclusion even if it did feel rushed. As with all the other books, Devina was the true star and her character made me laugh and at times feel sorry for her. I credit Ward for her brilliant writing and character development.

I would recommend this series to fans of Ward or those who enjoy paranormal romance or fantasy.

Great ending to fantastic series

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend the entire series to any of my friends. I am an atheist, and I take all stories of angels and daemons as fantasy. J.R. Ward was brilliant in this series with the war of good and evil. Each book in the series was better than the last. This one the final book in the series was great and had several twists that made it very enjoyable.

Who was your favorite character and why?

So many that make this series work, however Jim Devina and Sissy really play off each other so well. And of course Devina is an evil you love to hate. (Devina was so much more than evil) I loved her sessions with her Psychotherapist........(is she really the "Almighty"?) LOL. The heavenly cast of Archangels really are a mix too.

What does Eric Dove bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He was a fantastic narrator, doing both male and female voices great.......I couldn't believe how well he did Devina.......and Jim.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I actually started on Saturday night and finished on Sunday. It wasn't that long of a book just over 10 hours but truly a great ending to a series.....So many series are a disappointment with the endings.....However so far this is the second series I've completed that ended fantastic. Kim Harrison's "Rachael Morgan" series just ended and it to was narrated very well and ended beautifully. Thank you J.R. Ward for dong this so right. And Eric Dove for his fantastic narration.

Any additional comments?

Not sure if there will be follow ups with Lassiter, and the the other Angels looking into things that delve into the BDB. I guess we'll just see.

Powerful conclusion to an intriguing series

Imagine a war between good and evil going on right around us without our knowledge. This storyline builds on common believes of God and Angels and Heaven and Hell. Flawed characters right to do what they believe is right for the sake of mankind. And their are steamy scenes and twists and laughs. I've enjoyed every book! Ward has a great imagination and I can get lost in her universe.

FANTASTIC CONCLUSION!

Jim, Sissy, and the band of sexylicious angels finally have something good happen! This was a great ending to an awesome series. There were moments that were a little anti-climatic, but, overall, the angels and demons went at it hard fighting for their side, and I loved every minute. This entire series has been a spiritually mind bending, emotionally charged, hysterically funny and erotic journey. I'd give it 10 stars if I could; I can't wait for another series from Ward, I'm a fan for life!

Horrible!!! Just HORRIBLE!

What was most disappointing about J.R. Ward’s story?

I was able to hang on by a thread with this series because the stories of the Souls were good. But take that away (as she did) and there's nothing but Jim and Sissy...and their relationship is a thin inch away from pedophilia! Seriously, eww!

Any additional comments?

There's nothing worse than when the last book makes you feel like an idiot for reading the whole series.
