Imaginary Girls

This is a great book. I enjoyed listening to it. The only thing that I didn’t like was all the unanswered questions throughout the novel. The ending didn’t wrap anything up. It leaves you guessing. I guess that’s not such a bad thing but overall I would recommend listening to this novel

Unique and intriguing, great narration

This book reminded me of a netflix series about a story involving peculiar circumstances at a manor house in which you’re questioning things and even though there’s an element of improbability in events I found myself being willing to put aside my usual skepticism because Emma Gavin (the narrator), did such a splendid job weaving together the characters and storyline into such an intriguing tale that in the end, whether possible or not, I found myself willing to be satisfyingly entranced by the whole thing including the ending- which I did not see coming and changed from what I thought was coming at several points in the story. These aspects were quite well done and unsuspecting too. A very solid story and performance.

Secrets Make A Good Read!

When Chloe goes to live with her older sister, it seems Ruby lives a bit of a messy, in the "I don't care what people think" kind of way type of life. The home is still under remodeling and seems missing things that also are similar to the ghost that haunts Chloe. This is a wonderful listen!

Not even close to The Walls Around Us

I have a new writer crush on Nova Ren Suma. After rereading her latest, The Walls Around Us, thought I'd check out an earlier novel. It's listenable, but not as well developed, taking a long time to tell us what we knew would happen at the conclusion. The main character, Ruby is an unlikable tall tale of a shrew. Had to listen to how cool she was, but never felt why everyone was so awed and frightened by her; especially her sister. Don't like giving a negative review of a talented writer, but also don't want anyone who may read this to spend their hard earned, expensive credit on Imaginary Girls, either.
