Level Up. Kill Everyone Else. Take Their Stuff.
All Dantem ever wanted was one teeny tiny, almost insignificant thing....

What should’ve taken 3-4 novels was craned into just one, so the MC is basically just jumping from boss fight, to boss fight. The build up is just glossed over and you never really get a sense for how dangerous the enemy is supposed to be, so their never really feels like their are any stakes in the table. It’s like the author realized they spent way to much time building the outside world and had to cram something together for wean we finally got in the game.
The setting is one of my favorite, it’s a fairly (if not completely) Unique take on an isekai. And using a clever cover to built directly into the story to allow the author to effectively power-boost/retcon the MC with an in book cannon justification. I don’t particularly care for it, but it fits, and works well.
the MC playing the villain is not original but it is somewhat rare. With a fun juxtaposition on the hero and villain. With the MC caring more about the innocent NPC’s he’s robing than the hero’s trying to stop him.
my main praise for this is the characters. Their well written for the most part, and the writer sticks to their characters outline in behavior (which is apparently really hard because I’ve found vary few authors who can do that). No one dose something out of place ‘because plot’ the Mc doesn’t do something blatantly stupid ‘because plot’. The MC is supposed to be a clever, intelligent, problem solver, with a serious knack for adaptation, And He Is those things! … than again, a lot of what happens in the book is glossed over or ‘yada yada’ed into the corner as unimportant.
Sorta Amazing.
