A Must Read!!

If It Makes You Happy is so cozy and cute! It’s is exactly what I was looking for in a cozy fall romance. Michelle was very closed off, but with Cliff, she was herself! I loved how she was with Emily and Britt and of course Rocket! The romance and spice didn’t take away from the story as a whole! Everything just worked together!

Fall vibes, 90's vibes, and a great storyline!

I chose this book for the Gilmore Girls, 90's, small town fall vibes. I stayed for the storyline. This book definitely brings the nostalgia (all the 90's references made me smile!), but it also brings the emotions and messiness of real life.

Michelle is recently divorced and has recently lost her mom. She also inherited her ex-husband's dog, who allegedly doesn't like her. She moves across the country from Seattle to a small town in Vermont to run her late mother's bed and breakfast while her younger sister finishes art school.

Cliff (a huge cinnamon roll MMC) lives next door to the B&B with his two daughters. He's also recently divorced and super awkward...in the most adorable way ever.

There were so many characters in the small town, but all were so well developed that I didn't feel overwhelmed by trying to keep them straight. This is a slooooooooow burn, but it's so sweet to watch them fall for each other. There is angst, sadness, and overwhelming joy poured into these pages.

Highly recommend for getting in the fall mood!

I read this book when it was first published in 2024 as indie. & now seeing that she got to trad pub it & get an audiobook? It is absolute perfection. I will forever scream to the world the perfection of this book.

I liked the book however I was not a fan of the voice of Michelle. The person‘s voice was too high-pitched from my liking.
