An utterly delightful and sexy second-chance romance between a black cat and golden retriever with Mazey Edding's signature sparkling voice!

Eva Kitt never expected to be the host of Sausage Talk, interviewing B-list celebrities over lukewarm hot dogs, instead of pursuing the journalism career she dreamed of. But when Eva’s impromptu public call out of her college ex goes viral, she’s thrust into the spotlight. It doesn’t help said ex is Rylie Cooper, a beloved social media personality that has built a platform on deconstructing toxic masculinity and teaching men how to be good partners.

Forced to confront Rylie on a live episode of Sausage Talk, he offers Eva a deal: allow him to take her on a series of dates to make up for his toxic behavior, then debrief them on his channel to show he’s changed. Eva refuses to play nice, but agrees to the scheme to advance her own career and continue defaming Rylie’s good name. When these manufactured dates start to feel real, Eva has to wonder if the boy that broke her heart has become the man that might heal it.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Well, Actually is hilarious, heartfelt, and real. I wish I could live in Mazey Eddings' brain."—Grace Reilly, USA Today bestselling author of the Beyond the Play Series

"Well, Actually is well, stunning! Eddings's voice is distinct, her observations sharp, and the romance between Eva and Rylie is equal parts vulnerable, heartwarming, and absolutely scorching. An absolute delight of a book!"—Lyla Sage, New York Times bestselling author of Lost and Lassoed

It was cute and a quick read. Quite predictable but still entertaining nonetheless. Definitely not the book if you’re looking for a clean, thought provoking read.

"I like you. I care about you. I’ve lost my goddamn mind over you, Eva, and I’ll repeat it over and over again until you are able to trust it. Trust me.”

Well, Actually was such a fun read. Eva was a hoot to read, and I absolutely loved Rylie. I could read more of them forever, but I liked not having the "engagement" epilogue! I would have liked to see a bit more character growth from Eva to see her accepting her insecurities and flaws, but I liked her overall.

Eva and Rylie were the cutest Black Cat x Golden Retriever pairing everrrr😍 There’s also so much yearning, a deserving second chance at love, a good amount of therapy, and queer rep!

Well, Actually was such a fun read

This book got me hooked from the start! I enjoyed the writing and the pace of the book. The FMC and MMC had great banter. I was also very glad for no 3rd act break up. The narrator was a fantastic performer. She made the book come to life. I felt like I contacted more with the characters from her performance.

fantastic Narrator!

I loved everything about this book: the firey banter, the lol funny parts, the raw emotions, the absence of the miscommunication trope, and the narrator, whose MMC voice was hot! Open door and lots of cursing but so much more than a basic contemporary rom.

Fan-freaking-tastic!

Eva, host of the Sausage Talk show interviewing B-list celebrities. Rylie, a social media personality teaching men about how to be good partners and Eva’s college ex. After Eva publicly calls Rylie out, she is forced to have him on her show, where he offers to take her on a series of dates to make up for his behavior back in college. But when these dates start to feel real, Eva starts to wonder Rylie really changed.

I really enjoyed this story about second chances. While their second chance started a bit unconventional, I thought it was so funny. The banter and pointless arguments between Eva and Rylie was hilarious, I couldn’t stop laughing. I loved the found family she found with her friends. The character depth and growth that both Eva and Rylie went through and how they are growing together. Rylie was just the perfect counterpart for her. Both characters were just easy to relate to. I would totally recommend if you are looking for something fun while still being a bit emotional.

A new to me author.

Narrated by Ariela Crow. She a great job bringing these characters to life and making you feel like you are right there in the story too.

Another quote that I really enjoyed:

“Kitten, I’d rather spend every day getting in a pointless argument with your for sport than be bored and complacent with anyone else.”

I feel like I would’ve enjoyed this book much more if I read a physical copy. The narrator didn’t quite capture the sardonic vibe, and the spicy scenes were so melodramatically performed I found myself rolling my eyes, even though I really liked how they were written. The performance was okay-ish at first, but kept getting cheesier as the book went on. Bummer.

The story is good though! I liked the chemistry, banter, and backstory between the main characters. The ending was maybe a bit anticlimactic, but I really appreciated it didn’t fall into the miscommunication trope. Definitely worth a read, and one of my favorite Mazey Eddings book. I just would pick up a copy vs the audiobook

Cheesy Narrator

It was not that bad, but it was not not great. Same story ive read over and over just different names and different ways tot get there. Nothing new or exciting. Basic but it gets the job done. It’s mediocre at best.

Meh.
