I Kissed an Earl is another installment in rapidly rising star Julie Anne Long's sensual and emotionally charged Pennyroyal Green series, centered around the longstanding feud of the wealthy Eversea and Redmond families of Pennyroyal Green, Sussex. I Kissed an Earl absolutely brims with romance, adventure, and, of course, intense passion, as a beautiful, willful Regency lady searching for her lost brother stows away on a sailing ship - and ends up enchanting the vessel's highborn, hard-headed Captain.

Contains mature themes.

I enjoyed this story very much. The main characters are strong and complex and their falling in love is a slow burn. iIn this story, as in most historical romances the plot is totally unrealistic. Lyon Redmond becomes a ship owner with a loyal crew and had already destroyed most of a fleet of slave ships in only a year starting with nothing. also, it bothers me that the author doesn't know a thing about ships. she says that the furniture is moving all Avery the place in a storm when Iin reality furniture in ships is bolted to the floor precisely to prevent that from happening. I feel the narrator did a much better job in this book than on previous books.

adventure and romance in the high seas
