The #1 bestseller

Packed with hard-won wisdoms and gentle revelations, this is Miranda's honest exploration of the lessons that have helped her.

Hello to you, I am with news. I have a new book: I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest With You. I know – what an intriguing title!

Basically, I have had an unexpectedly difficult decade – there have been surprising joys but also deep revelations and challenging lows. I shall be honest about those, because what I discovered in the difficult times were my, what I call, treasures. Treasures – practical tools, values, ways, answers researched from some great scientists, neuroscientists, therapists, sociologists (all the ‘ists’) out there – that have genuinely led to a sense of freedom, joy, peace and physical recovery I never would have thought possible. Life now, amazingly, with what I will share is – SUCH FUN! (Always important to quote your own catch phrases…)

If you fancy having a read, then I hope my story might help your story. After all, we are in this beautiful, mysterious, challenging life together. Rest assured there are funny stories along the way – we will have a laugh too, my dear reader chum. Oh, and I couldn’t possibly say if there is a love story in it . . . (There is – shush.) Exciting!

'A bombshell, moving, inspirational. Hart passes on the tips that helped her emerge from psychological as much as physical doldrums. No comedian, female or male, has been so taken to the nation’s bosom since Victoria Wood' Independent

'A raw and poignant account. Miranda is more of an everywoman than ever before' The Times

'Miranda's account of slowly letting her guard down and being vulnerable is sweet and moving, and proof that happiness is possible even in the most trying times' Guardian

Editorial Review

Finding freedom, joy, peace, and fun with Miranda Hart
It was a few years ago that I binge-watched several seasons of the long-running British TV series Call the Midwife, and Camilla “Chummy” Noakes (played my Miranda Hart) quickly became a character who felt like a friend. Hampered by acute shyness, Chummy was nonetheless an adept midwife (if I were to have a baby in a London tenement, I’d want her by my side). Similarly, I welcome the sage advice offered by Hart in this revealing, informative, and very funny memoir. It’s prescriptive in the most useful of ways. She shares the “treasures” she’s collected—practical tools learned from scientists, neuroscientists, therapists, and sociologists that have helped her to heal physically and emotionally. She’s done the work and is here to help us, her fans, navigate our own journeys to health. — Tricia F., Audible Editor

From a person who has had many challenges since birth until this past year. 62 years and relating so much to most of Miranda's story. I loved her humor, her vulnerability all her tool and treasures that I could resonate with so much. This is one of my very favorites books ever. Thank you Miranda for sharing your life, love and treasures with us. I will probably listen to this again, that's how much I enjoyed listening, learning, laughing and felt very connected to your story and coming out the other side of the cave into the light. Thank you again, much love ❤️

A book for everyone and I highly reccomend ✨️💜

Miranda sorts through the origins of her/our hidden pain and shows by example how we grow up collecting mental and emotional weaponry that we use against ourselves and others. With these tactics we end up isolating and degrading ourselves, to the extent of over-stressing our immune systems, leaving us prey to chronic, often debilitating physical illnesses.
Miranda talks about her own decades-long sickness, and the process that led to her ultimate recovery. Throughout the telling, she relates her personal experiences, her struggles, ponderings and epiphanies, keeping the reader/listener engaged every step of the way. Quoting experts from related fields, Miranda demonstrates the proven and undeniable connections between our thought processes (positive or negative) and our physical well-being.
Plus! The book is loaded with what I call Miranda moments, told in her no-holds-barred comic or tragic, full-on, Yes this is me! voice, which I quite love.

The ultimate cure for what ails us

I really appreciate the vulnerability Miranda poured into this book. I love how she opened up and allowed us to participate in her last few years of processing her reality. I went into it knowing it wouldn't be as funny as her other writings but wasn't prepared for feeling so "seen" as I am in a battle of chronic symptoms myself. Welcome back to the public world, Miranda, and thank you for being willing to be vulnerable and real in the midst of your return to fame.

The print version of “I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest With You” isn’t yet available in the US so I’m listening to the audiobook. I’m floored. I’ve had ME/CFS for over 20 years and believe recovery is possible but haven’t been able to get there. I’ve done a couple of programs but found them a bit stressful, hard work, expensive, and not that helpful. Miranda (if I may be so bold as to use her first name) covers many of the same principles but in a way that I can internalize, that gets through to me. I’m already feeling calmer and more optimistic. Her humor and light and chummy style, very conversational, really appeals to me. I keep having “aha!” moments when I realize a concept is really core to my healing process. I want to add tabs, highlight, and underline but can’t without a hard copy. I’m nearly finished, so will start over and take notes, and get the hard copy when it comes out in January.

Some US folks might have difficulty with the audiobook because of the accent and language differences but my parents are from England so I’m bilingual! Ha ha ha. Smiling. I can think of at least one friend who would benefit from this book and, really, almost anyone who just wants to be more balanced and content would, IMHO.

Possibly the best money I ever spent.

OMG, I’m healing!

I loved so much how Miranda Hart has kept her sense of humor despite a decades long illness. I laughed and cried along with her. Miranda Hart deserves all the wins going forward.

I laughed & cried and found Miranda’s way of wandering through subject matter most enjoyable & true! Having discovered I must deal with autoimmune health issues this book became very relatable. Indeed we must gather good medical professionals along the way & go out & enjoy life! Don’t let your body prevent you for engaging in what makes your life richer. Thanks Miranda for this audible- big hug!

Good friend & therapeutic

Miranda Hart is a jewel. I picked her book not even knowing the genre or content because I knew it would enjoyable. The fact that she was narrating Was a such a plus. I had no idea she struggled with a debilitation condition. She has written a sensitive and valuable book, sprinkled with humor and wit on her struggles with self acceptance, awareness and the challenging health she suffered for decades that we can relate to on many levels. I loved that she was speaking to us, her cherished readers. Well done, Miranda.

I connected to this book so much. Dealing with a lifetime of chronic illness and the guilt around that. It was wonderful and reaffirming.
