Resumen del Editor

David Mitchell’s 2014 best seller Thinking About It Only Makes It Worse must really have made people think - because everything’s got worse. We’ve gone from UKIP surge to Brexit shambles, from horsemeat in lasagne to Donald Trump in the White House, from Woolworths going under to all the other shops going under. It’s probably socially irresponsible even to try to cheer up.

But if you’re determined to give it a go, you might enjoy this eclectic collection (or eclection) of David Mitchell’s attempts to make light of all that darkness. Scampi, politics, the Olympics, terrorism, exercise, rude street names, inheritance tax, salad cream, proportional representation and farts are all touched upon by Mitchell’s unremitting laser of chit-chat, as he negotiates a path between the commercialisation of Christmas and the true spirit of Halloween.

Listen to this book and slightly change your life!

Love this book

For those who are already fans of David Mitchell and his rants will enjoy this collection of his columns from the Observer. If you aren’t, you won’t. If you are not familiar with Mitchell but seek intelligent wit with your social commentary, this book is for you.

Acerbic wit

David Mitchell could read the phone book and I’d enjoy listening to it. Listening to him is just as enjoyable as watching him on TV

Above the average!

David Mitchell is not a comedian he is Rene Descartes bizzaro! In a very positive way! He makes the art of thinking and analyzing fun!

Genius and gripping.

Could listen to David Mitchell for ever! Honest and earnest. And funny as heck! I finished it in like 2 sittings. And felt super sad when it finished.

Hilarious, ironic, sarcastic.

I enjoyed his pearls of wisdom in Peep Show and Would I Lie to You. Highly recommend if you like The sarcastic British humor.

Devastatingly hilarious.

Smart, witty observation of the chaos we currently live in. Makes you sob in despair at our future and chuckle with concerted glee as you realize you are intelligent and well read enough to get that humorous comparison. Highly recommended for fans of Peep Show and Trump. Seriously, occupants of red states here in the US will love this.

Love David Michell, he kills it as always.

It's quick, maybe a bit rambley at times, but still enjoyable. I'd say I don't know a whole lot about British politics, so that's one issue I have with the book.

8 hours of a British George Carlin rant.

American reader here and I would just say to anyone listening to this book who lives outside the UK, just accept the fact that you won’t know some things mentioned that are specific to UK life and you’ll be all good. If you are an over achiever you can google while you listen, but not necessary to still appreciate the humor coming from this book.
